What kind of AUM you get as hedge fund trader ?

Interesting you asked this in the "Prop Firm" forum. It would depend on the AUM of the fund, how scalable your strategy is, how the risk/reward fits into their metrics and if a multi-strategy fund, what size "bucket" you are filling. Basically, the larger multi-strategy funds will look for a...

can dark pools distinguish between a sell order to close, or a short order to open?

The entire point of a dark pool is to be dark. It is not in the public view besides the trade prints.

can dark pools distinguish between a sell order to close, or a short order to open?

Honestly, I'm not sure why the DARK pool would care. They only make money when they pair off both sides.

can dark pools distinguish between a sell order to close, or a short order to open?

That is the correct way to send a buy order with that tag. If not it can be booked incorrectly and you can end up with a boxed positions as buy to open is booked to the TYPE 1 CASH account for CASH accounts, TYPE 2 MARGIN account for Margin accounts buy to close offsets a short position in TYPE...

can dark pools distinguish between a sell order to close, or a short order to open?

Your broker to be Reg SHO compliant is required to tag sell orders as SELL or SELL SHORT. So, I'm not sure why you are asking but yes they can.

    CBOT Seat Prices

I think many here are missing the point. The membership purchase is a long term investment that provides MUCH lower transactional costs. MUCH lower. To some, buying that membership for $25,000 can save them $25,000 to $50,000 per year or more in clearing and regulatory fees. If it does that, who...

    CBOT Seat Prices

Predicting the future value is very hard. You need to get enough value out of the lower cost structure offset by higher market data charges to make up for the risk of the investment and lower trading capital. You can always lease them and not tie up capital or have investment risk, but leased...

Do you pay short borrow fee on a short stock position opened during after-hours

Lightspeed only charges borrow fees on short positions held overnight. The same for using leverage on long positions. We do not charge for debit balances that exceed your equity unless you borrow funds overnight.

    Interactive Brokers Sponsoring Seat Lease

I suggest you contact CME membership directly and confirm that. An IOM seat lease would cover your ES and NQ. Start with that. https://www.cmegroup.com/company/membership/individual/cme.html.

    Interactive Brokers Sponsoring Seat Lease

You do not need your FCM to sponsor you. You contact CME Membership, buy or lease a seat, then provide your FCM, in your case IB, your member acronym to get clearing discounts.

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

I did not say that. I said without option market makers, the only "NBBO" would come from limit orders placed by customers which would be either much wider spreads in many cases no bids or offers at all. And then about my comment on fragmentation, it makes it very easy for internalization without...
