How do you practically trade box spreads?

You can use T-bills/notes or we offer VUSXX, but the VUSXX is not swept. You have to request to buy or sell it. The Put Seller's Journal

This is correct. 390 option orders per day is one a minute. That is generally a lot for a manual trader, but I do monitor my active option clients to help them stay under the 390. If you breach that in any month, for an entire quarter you are tagged at "Professional". You lose your customer...

How do you practically trade box spreads?

It is a simple question with a complicated answer. Am I a market maker or a retail customer? What does my book look like if a MM? What does my clearing firm charge me to borrow funds. What do they give me on credit balances? How much margin does it require? What are my transaction costs? Do I...

How do you practically trade box spreads?

One more point. If you have an account with equity of say $250,000 and want to be flat to day and just want to maximize your riskless rate, and you buy close to $250,000 in a box spread discounted out 6 months. Your get your targeted return. Nice. Now, in 2 weeks or 2 months, you change your...

How do you practically trade box spreads?

That is an excellent point. I expect that after commissions, market to market changes in equity, and the difficulty finding the other side at an advantageous price, I'd still rather buy a T-bill or a Money Market fund. We offer both. The one exception is a credit box spread to reduce debit...

Anyone else STRONGLY disagree with what the Fed is doing?

My two semesters in micro and macroeconomics at NYU back in 1978/79 do not make me an expert on monetary policy. I do think they are moving too far too fast and not giving the current rates a chance to show their effects on inflation. The same way we went too far with stimulus, I expect they...

What are the taxes consequences for profit/loss in trading futures?

We do not have that service. If he is a CTA with a block account, there are ways to do that and GIVE up the trades after, but we have no program to copy traders from one trader to another. Most of our clients for futures use either CQG Desktop/QTrader or Realtick, but we also offer Rithmic and TT.

What are the taxes consequences for profit/loss in trading futures?

We only offer futures accounts when you use an IRA custodian like Midland Trust. https://www.midlandtrust.com/ I have two accounts with Midland. I have used them to open a futures account with us and make investments in hedge funds with my Roth IRA and IRA. When the account is open through them...

What are the taxes consequences for profit/loss in trading futures?

I do not know about losses and tax loss carry forward or back. All futures are 1256 contracts with MTM accounting and no wash sales. Realized and unrealized P/L get aggregated at year end and your 1099 has no details, only a net profit or loss. They get recorded as 1256 contracts and your...

What kind of AUM you get as hedge fund trader ?

I'm not sure what type of example you are asking for. You need to look at it from your POV, not theirs. You need to profit a certain amount of money to do just that business for just them. You need to determine what allocation makes sense for your time. If that is $300,000, ask for that. If that...

What kind of AUM you get as hedge fund trader ?

Short story-Many years ago, mid-90's, the head of risk at a well-known hedge fund brought me in to meet management to discuss opening an option desk. I was well prepared for the meeting, but they asked one question I was not expecting. I was very accustomed to talking to those that wanted to...
