Took break from trading, but I know you cannot give up

The error should have been more timely than the end of day. I was a floor official on the AMEX and we had time constraints. https://www.nyse.com/publicdocs/nyse/markets/nyse-arca/NYSE%20Arca%20Rule%207.10.pdf

Took break from trading, but I know you cannot give up

Exchange rule, not the broker. Would not matter. I once bought stock down $6.00 on the open and flipped it. The sell was deemed good but my buy was cancelled because of a bad priced, down more than 5 points.

Looking at option volume as indicator?

Volume and open interest and different. One is a count and the other are open contracts. In a simple example open interest is zero. I buy 10 calls from you. Your software shows 10, the OI is 10 and the volume on the OCC is 20, just to confuse us. Tomorrow, I sell 10 to another person to close...

    Strategies

You can try to buy options spreads for $0.00. These are called "net zero complex orders" when they trade between -0.01 and +0.01. Not sure why anyone would sell a spread for 0.00 that can only go to 0.00 on the downside, but some traders do. An example would be an OTM call condor that is...

Looking at option volume as indicator?

No. Your software will show trade volume vs contracts. The OCC counts a buy contract and a sell contract as two, which most of us find confusing, but they charge both sides. Many traders us the OCC webiste to do research. If you do that, you have to cut those numbers in half. As an example, I...

Looking at option volume as indicator?

Not always. When you view option volume on your software, it will include the volume printed. Buy/side, sell side, not relevant. OPRA reports the volume as the exchange reports to them. If you look at volume on the OCC website, it reports contracts entered into, so it doubles all volume...

Looking at option volume as indicator?

I would say that using option volume to determine the short term direction of an underlying is VERY hard. You have to make a number of assumptions to make it valuable. -Was the trade initiated by the buyer or seller? -Was it to open or close? -Was it hedged with the underlying? -Was it to...

    List of cash settled futures

I have a CTA that trades AG products for me. Almost every month I get a notice like the following. I have a big 2 Bedroom apartment, but not this big. He always covers about a week before he has to. Still a little scary. 1 contract is 40,000 pounds of LIVE Cattle!

    FINRA Day Trading

DT is enforced by all US registered firms with both equities and options. As a side note, I don't know if includes bonds and other fixed income. It does not include futures which are not regulated with the SEC or Finra. I have no knowledge of what is required for a foreign broker that has a...

    List of cash settled futures

Some FCMs have the facilities in place for delivery and some don't. The ones that do, will warn you every day for weeks before the last trading day. Most online brokers do not allow delivery like TD and IB, so they have a to have a close out process. I've had customer accounts at ADMIS, FC Stone...

Options on UVXY - Are they Sec. 1256 contracts?

It is my understanding that they have to be cash settled options to be considered 1256 or options on futures or futures.

Converting ETF system to trade options

Then options work well with symbols that have tight spreads. I actually like that to limit losses without stops.

Converting ETF system to trade options

I expect the answer to your question is yes but at a cost. Equities are constantly trading on the bid and offer while the options you want to open and close on might not, so you will be dependent on a MM for much of your liquidity. I would avoid the 2x and 3x products and use the more liquid QQQ.
