Lightspeed Trading: Brokerage Services for the ‘Serious Trader’

http://custom.forbes.com/2017/02/02/lightspeed-trading/ Volatile markets can make or break a trader’s month, year — or even career. We only have to look back as recently as June 2016 following the Brexit vote. Market volatility around the world spiked. Many brokers’ systems couldn’t keep up...

Some still do at firms like MS/ML. Before 1975, there were fixed commission rates and you were not allowed to give discounts!. In the 80's and 90's, 3% to 5% was common. "May 1, 1975, when the brokerage industry deregulated commissions, acting on a Securities and Exchange Commission mandate...

    Recent Cuts In Commissions

No ticket change on the DMA software. No cap. Our commission rates also included the OCC fee of $0.05/side but not ORF and a few other smaller fees. If you are trading 1000 lots, I can do a lot better than $0.60/side. I can also offer SMART and DMA for the same cost on some software. Our SMART...

Need Information On Broker Data Feeds

We don't offer a "feed" for corporate actions and not sure what you mean by a feed for cancelled trades? The order window shows your cancelled trades. With regard to tick data, we don't offer tick data for back testing if that is what you are referring to.

We take a different approach. We want to offer the most competitive rates we can, then pass through the cost of MD, Exchange and Regulatory fees to the client as an expense of trading. They the client chooses what they pay for. If we have to anticipate the needs of every client and what that...

    Home-based algo server

I have to say I love the picture of the IBM PC on the bottom right from the 90's. I'm not an expert on these set ups, but I did build my last 12 PCs. This is not enough information to design a set up that meets your needs. I can only recommend that you have a back up PC for trading and both a...

Professional or Non-Professional Subscriber for Exchange Data Fees

When you say sole proprietor, what do you mean? If you open an individual account that's not a sole proprietorship. If you create a DBA, that is tricky as it is not an entity but has an EIN.

Professional or Non-Professional Subscriber for Exchange Data Fees

I have seen no reference at all to tax status with regard to pro-vs non-pro. In fact, a sole member LLC is a disregarded entity to the IRS. You don't require a K1. Since the exchanges want to charge all entities more, the tax status is not referenced. If it were, a sole member LLC would be like...

If your account is in your name and you are not a BD, RIA or CTA, you should be non-pro. If you switch to trade through any entity, you will have to claim Pro-MD. Yes, if your account is for the benefit of a corporation, you will pay more. Bob
