Has anyone recovered money from stock ligitation lawsuits?

When there is a class action lawsuit, they describe in detail who qualifies. Sometimes you need to have a holding period, others you don't. You have to read the action paperwork and respond. Then wait.

Has anyone recovered money from stock ligitation lawsuits?

You won't know until years later. And, you may not qualify.

Has anyone recovered money from stock ligitation lawsuits?

I have. It takes a long time. Just fill them out, keep a record and wait.

Need advice buying a new workstation

Does it matter if it is out of warranty if it is still working well? What typically fails are power supplies and hard drives. Have you considered buying an SSD for the OS and new power supply? Keep the power supply but don't install it in case of failure and image the old drive to the new one...

Trading volume aggregation for brokerage commission discount

On a case by case basis, I might be able to do this if all the clients use RealTick. Each client gets their own account, I would look at their volume in total to set rates. I want to avoid one person advertising this to get in strangers in. If one group comes to me at once, I would ask for approval.

    IB Quits options game!

On each option trade, there is a OCC fee, ORF, Sec 31 fee and TAF. The TAF, for FINRA, is very small. Same with the Sec 31 fee unless your option sales are very high in value. OCC is $0.05 and goes toward the OCC financial guarantee of your counterparty risk. The ORF fee is around $0.0431/option...

These fees stem from exclusive arrangements with S&P and Russell Investments. Nasdaq owns 6 option exchanges: ISE, NASDAQ, BX, PHLX, ISE Gemini, ISE Mercury. Those exchange each earn an ORF fee every time you trade, regardless of what exchange you trade on. I agree that one exchange is too...

    IB Quits options game!

Equity/index option volume is no longer growing as fast, I would guess because of how popular ETFs are vs stocks. And, the market is too fragmented. And, the cost from exchanges, market data, regulation, PFOF and infrastructure has gotten too expensive for the share of the market's "dumb"...

    IB Quits options game!

Well, I expect they were kidding, but you are right. While on the AMEX, I would say I made money on close to 100% of the trades I did with Timber Hill, but they made money too. I made my money by offsetting with other option or hedging with the equity in that symbol and they made their money in...

If you are asking to me guess, they can't do enough volume at their values to get a good ROI. Just a guess.

Their deep pockets only provide liquidity based on their global dispersion model. Basically they are not always making narrow two sided markets unless they can lay that off somewhere else. The model takes little or no risk.

    IB Quits options game!

I agree. The big issue is the fragmentation created from the 15 option exchanges and the number of contracts that are crossed without price discovery. The cost of making markets on every exchange to have access to all the order flow, still does not provide you access to that flow because of...
