I think it's good advice. All the books I read made me much worse than during my first month, when I wouldn't do anything unless I knew it was a slam dunk. The illusion of knowledge is dangerous. The Market can fake you out in the short term but longer term outcomes (compared to day trades)...

To be fair, I should mention that my internet connection is pretty slow (too slow to watch Youtube videos in the lowest resolution). Tradestation 9.1 had some issues of its own, such as my scanner stopped working after the latest updates, the need to always use the same computer, and the cost...
