    Tradestation: zero commission

Now the Tradestation web site wording has been changed to: "Only available to U.S. residents." https://www.tradestation.com/promo/tsgo/ Too bad. Looks like traders in the EU will have to move (e.g. to Monanco, Dubai or the US) to gain access to commission-free trading. At Tradestation they...

Futures Day Trading in Sweden - Tax Implications

There is no ceiling. However, you have to use a Swedish bank to open an ISK and trade through them, which makes almost any type of trading close to impossible. Many of the banks do not even offer a USD account to do the trading. You cannot short stocks. I am not sure whether you can trade...

Futures Day Trading in Sweden - Tax Implications

This is correct and very unique for Sweden. I have not found any other country where this is the case - except for the usual no tax countries like Monaco, Dubai, Bahamas etc.

Futures Day Trading in Sweden - Tax Implications

Do you by any chance know of anyone offering kapitalförsäkring with access to foreign brokers like Interactive Brokers. I found one who did in fact offer access to IB in the past, but not anymore. I assume the answer is no, because I did not find anyone else. I am aware of Degiro’s ISK...

    Wealth Taxes

I wrote "tax" not "income tax." I specifically wrote "even if the tax rate is lower." "... you are mislead by numbers..." It is spelled "misled." Pretty arrogant to suggest something is elementary school when you cannot read and spell.

    Free US stock commissions internationally

Just called Ameritrade. They do not accept new clients from the EU.

    Wealth Taxes

The 400 wealthiest Americans of course pay exponentially more tax than any other income group, even if the tax rate is lower. Even if the 400 wealthiest Americans paid effectively zero tax, they would contribute far more to society than any other income group. Example: Let's say the founders...

    Tradestation: zero commission

I agree. However, I suspect the underlying villain is EU regulation combined with brexit.

If your motivation is commission-free trading have you considered Tradestation?

Can't open trading account for single member LLC (foreign)

I agree in terms of E-Trade. However, at least in terms of an individual account when you push the "Open new account" button at Ameritrade, it says: "What you need: Social Security Number or ITIN Foreign tax ID, passport, or visa number (if you're not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident)"...

    Free US stock commissions internationally

The new IB Lite is only an option for US residents. That is stated directly in the press release. Order flow will be sold. That is also stated directly in the press release. IB Pro, which is currently the only option for non-US residents, is equal to the old IB with direct market access.

The reason why EU clients are excluded from commission-free trading

    1) They do not earn 4 cents per 100 shares. They earn 30 cents (= 0.003 per share), cf. the link below. Including exchange fees that is almost exactly equal to what I pay currently at IB using IB's tiered commission schedule...

    Tradestation: zero commission

Has anyone got examples of a major online retail brokerages that went bankrupt AND where clients lost money over the last 20 years? I’m thinking online brokerages above a certain size like Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers, Lightspeed, E-Trade, Ameritrade or Tradestation. MF Global...

    Free US stock commissions internationally

I can confirm that it is not. It is evident from the press release: "IBKR Lite will be made available to US residents." https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20190926005753/en/Interactive-Brokers-Launch-IBKR-Lite

The reason why EU clients are excluded from commission-free trading

The reason Interactive Brokers excludes EU clients from commission-free trading probably is MiFID II: https://www.hlengage.com/mifid-ii-fca-publishes-dear-ceo-letter-on-payment-for-order-flow However, it raises a couple of questions: 1) Are existing Schwab clients in the EU not exposed to...

    Tradestation: zero commission

I just contacted Schwab again for the second time on their chat. Here is the exchange: "Does the commission-free trading of US stocks apply also to EU clients?" "Unfortunately, the commission free trading is only for US based accounts." "Ok, I have just been receiving conflicting information...

What? I was told the opposite when I contacted Schwab. Very confusing. But great news if it is true.
