You can disable private messages by going to your account options page at http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/member.php?action=editoptions and select "No" for the option labeled "Enable Private Messaging".

Yes, because other members would be constantly emailing us asking how they can reach you. In fact, that's the reason why we made the PM system mandatory to begin with. In the past we would get daily emails regarding how to contact users who weren't accepting PM's or Emails.

You're right. Somehow I misread your post. We don't currently have that feature, but I'll check out the code and see what it will take to make it happen.

The option to receive or not receive email notifications can be set in your account options.

All you have to do is subscribe to the thread and it will appear on your account page with any other threads you've subscribed to. So it will ultimately function as a pseudo forum in the way you've described.

The mods have the ability to relocate portions of threads to a different forum in the way you have proposed. We typically do this when we get a complaint about threads that get severely off-topic.
