    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

That may be the propaganda that the SEC and others are pushing but in reality, the rule is to guarantee brokers that their margin is covered (the 25g minimum). The margin was increased to 4:1 to appease everyone but the little guy :)

Proof that success in one field doesnt mean you're not really an idiot at heart

Maybe he relied on a broker for advice, making him naive rather than an idiot. As the previous poster said, cut him some slack. Everyone makes mistakes.

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

MAYBE and SHOULD? Toss in a little HOPE and you've got a chance. Pre and post market trading is the worst place to expect automation and precision. They're like the Pony Express - bids and asks can be miles apart :)

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

If so inclined, you can buy SRS 100 times during the same day in A1 and sell it all at once in A2. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Anyway you cut it, it's extra commissions and slippage because you're doing it in two accounts. And FWIW, if you did it all in one...

What do you know, what do you think you know, after 15 years of successful trading, I

After I read the first line of your PM, I just deleted them as they arrived. PM received ---> "Hey dude, Its me, the dumb f*cking A-hole you don't wanna talk to." You were right on both accounts

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

And you are currently shorting against the box successfully to circumvent the PDT rules? IOW, you have a broker who lets you short the stock that you are long and doesn't call it a sale?

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

The SEC has assumed that if you have less than $25g that you are an unsophisticated trader and that they need to protect you from yourself :)

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

That's very clever double talk to avoid the truth. If you buy SRS in A1 and DXO in A2, you have two commissions. When you want to close the two positions, you have two more commissions. That's a total of four regardless of how low your commission rate is. 4 is twice as much as 2, capiche...

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

LOL. I like the word " SHOULD ". What happens if someone else hits one side of your two orders and the market moves against the other side? You'll be left there holding your joystick while the other side goes directional, possibly for or possibly against you but hardly the no risk thesis you...

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

Even if you could accurately keep track of which account to trade in without making mistakes, that's a horrible suggestion. You end up paying double the number of commissions as well as double the number of B/A spreads (slippage)...not to mention price change risk in the time it takes to...

    ex dividend

When the stock goes ex-div, its price will be reduced by $2. Where it opens on on Tuesday will depend on the buying and selling pressure of the orders that morning. If there are no orders, it will be $48

Make no mistake...Swing Trading is where its at...

I don't think that a three month stretch makes one a consistent trader but all that's really important is that if one does that, one is happy with the result whether the gain was $1,000 or $100,000. All you have to do is perform adequately ... unless you're in bed. :)

Make no mistake...Swing Trading is where its at...

I once had a three month stretch without a losing day. I thought that I was a god. The ex wife thought otherwise. So now I'm the devil with a good winning streak! :)

    Pair Trading Strategy Journal

I don't fit neatly into a label. My pairs aren't always pairs since they can have more than two legs. They tend to be dynamic in that they can be open for days or weeks but I tend to trade the components intraday... well, as much as possible. The legs can change as well. Some days I'm busy...
