    TRIN Trivia

A note on today's closing TRIN (3/9/2004) "On a few trivial notes, the TRIN came close to closing above 3.0, which it's only done 11 other times since 1997. Three days later, the SP500 was higher all 11 times, with an average gain of +2.5%" http://www.hardrightedge.com/tradewinds.htm

Wizetrade or other software for a beginner

Has anyone seen the latest WizeTrade Infomercial? Its hilarious. There is this group of about 6 traders who trade as a "Team" (Most of them are wearing Hawaiian shirts). One guy says "I drove a cab for 8 years, so I already knew about green and red lights". It shows them closing a winning...

The Most Important Thing To Watch

I trade ES and have been watching $BKX(Banking Index) for the past 2 weeks. On Friday when the market gapped down, I noticed that $BKX was barely down and began to BreakOut from a consolidation. Market rallied hard. On Wednesday ES was forming a triangle like pattern (5 min chart) mid day...

    Outsourcing & Jobs Report

Mark did talk a bit on the fast side. I just enjoyed watching Lou get fustrated. Lou bashes companies for outsourcing overseas on his television show then recomends some of those same companies in his investment newsletter service.

    Outsourcing & Jobs Report

Did anyone see the segment on Lou Dobbs last night where he interviewed Mark Anderseen (creator of Nestscape) on the jobs issue? Mark gave Lou a serious spanking in my opinion. The way I look at it, if someone can produce something for $1.00 in China/India, and it costs us $5.00 to...

    IB TWS Frustration...pages deleted!

TWS lost connection this morning for about 15 minutes. Luckily I at least went Long one ES, but missed my add level (which of course would have been way in the money). Anyone else have problems with TWS this morning.

I believe the reason stops are invisible on GLOBEX is because they don't exist. stops are stored on your brokers server and when they are triggered, they are sent to GLOBEX as a Limit order. My understanding is that GLOBEX only deals with Limit orders. Market orders are really limit orders...

Globex uses FIFO (First in first out) and there are no market makers for ES. Go to the CME website for more details.

    Winning in the EMinis

I am working on a method that "anticipates" a Breakout in ES based on the action in $BKX (financials are the heaviest weighted component of the S&P 500 and often lead the market) For instance, today ES was forming a triangle on the 5 min chart and I was wondering which way it would break...

recognizing a loser before a stop out

Another ET member posted this link in another thread and I found it helpful. http://www.futuresmag.com/futuresclassroom/phantom/phantom.html One thing I have done is to implement time stops. I am still experimenting with this but my basic plan is to give the trade 2 x time frame I am...
