The SPY 112 March puts are pretty cheap right now, I bought right before the close today. Also over 2 weeks till expiration they seem worth holding. Just 1 bad news report, and the market could fall 20 to 30 points, and the market is looking tired right now.

They were not able to bring it back to 1025 so only able to get up to previous day high at close. So while we are in around a 10 point range, we are closer to the top of the range, which to me excepting some bullish reports means the market may be running out of steam right here.

I think they will drop it over night when most are out. I was able to buy a put.

No, you don't seem to understand that they can be used as a tool in conjunction with other other price analysis and money management including scaling in and out to create an edge. Examples are being given to show that this worked in the past. None of us claim it works 100%, what we are saying...

My answer is yes, if you have an edge and money management, then quit your job and trade for a living. If you are not sure or want to test it, then why not take say a couple weeks of vacation time, to verify it.
