Finally turned positive for the day since last night. My main mistake was trading last night. The problem was that in NT 7, you can specify on your charts a session manager for example that will display certain charts only during RTH, so even though contracts trade in the night session, my...

    Weinstein Trading and Fading

I think its easier to go long a similar stock that does not have exposure of unknown lawsuits like BP. For example, DO which is an off shore driller fell over 35% from its 52 week high even though it has nothing to do with the current mess. Now instead of just going long the stock, I sold...

I have a over 20 page file in Microsoft Word on trading setups with charts attached. Also, I have had my mentor e-mail his charts after the day is over, so I can see where he took a trade long or short.

Thanks for your response. Looking back at that trade, I see that I could and would have gotten at least 3 points. I guess I am used to days where the es market barely moves. Also, I felt I needed to have run a 2nd contract to aim for the price action target that I now see in hindsight...

I recently entered a real long trade with a 2 point target 1 contract. I decided to go for 2 points since with the market moving like it is right now, going for just 1 point is kind of silly. My goal on this trade was to average down once since I did not want to get stopped out do to noise...

2 winning real trades on ES long. Then 1 sim on CL short, stopped out. Working with the new features of Ninja Trader 7 and will not trade CL with real money until I test to see if I have an edge. Then did 2 sim trades in ES long both profitable. Having problems taking all my setups after I...

The problem is no one wants to lose money. However, in trading you need to expect sometimes, you will have losing trades. I would suggest, you switch to sim, and wait for one of your setups that you normally, take. Take it will your normal stop and profit target. Once you prove your setups...

I liked my long trade today. I waited for a setup that made sense, plan was to go long 1 contract, and add 1 more if market moved down more, but still use stop for both at a good level. Both contracts got filled, so I targeted 1st contracts entry, and was able to get out at a profit. This...

Hehe. What I use HH. HL., LL, LH for is to help determine the current trend. I normally do not make trades based on this but, then use an indicator once I determine the trend, to help me either get in on a good trend trade or counter trend trade. However, what I believe I did today, is that...

I did everything wrong today and still made money except determine that we did make a bottom and picked the right direction. I saw we were headed up, and I chased the price, I did it with 2 contracts at 1127, and I killed the stops as the market went against my trade since I picked the wrong...

    CL Redux

I think you could go long at 66 and add at 65 for a longer term position. Anything above $ 65 is good enough to make profit for the drillers, so I think buying them on dips is a good strategy.

    Naked Call

What about a naked put that I wrote. Let's assume that it is in the money for the person who bought the put, for example 1 point below the strike price that I wrote it for, do I get assigned the stock, or do they just take money out of my account, on expiration?

    CL Redux

I made money today, however, I think in future I need to try to trade with trend more often if I can determine the trend. I stopped trading today after 3 trades, 2 in es and 1 in cl. 1st es trade, I took a loss of just .50 after market went down but not enough to fill my 2nd contract order...

Gold looks like a good hedge against Euro

I like gold long term with paper currencies falling. I wanted to buy a gold stock today that was not already up in price, and GBG looks good with them soon to start production in 2 separate mines in different parts of the world.

On Cramer's show last night he mentioned that up days have been weak volume and down days have been heavy volume. Also, that the 14 day moving average crossed the 34 day moving average to the downside. which is a bearish crossover. He mentioned buying on dips, and I was planning to go long if...
