why is silver price not high compared to gold ? in my mind it should have hit $10.00 this month ( no position - but long some pre 1965 us coins ) :p

what I do not understand is the high prices in many asset classes now Real Estate OIL GOLD Equities relative to a few yrs ago dont tell me its all due to China ? :p

interesting observation ... I had thought that an order or two of mine in USD / JPY for small size using IDEALPRO FX was sitting on the bid it was either locked at the same price as the MM or even crossed through by 1 pip without execution I then cancelled the order without harm...

now the question is ... if in the next 30 days we will see $600 before $500 I have to think if it is the former .. silver price will hit $10 ... :p

for the record ... I have been using IB for small size FX spot USD - EUR executions recently ... from the handful I have done ... when it is not so busy in Asian hours ... I can lift the offer or hit the bid or split the 2 pip spread ... and although sometimes I have seen the...

one bad thing has been the occational -oops- where a prop shop and its traders stopped trading due to financial difficulties and irregularities etc ... so I guess one might want to keep as little as possible or make sure there are enough safeguards in place to prevent any such thing...

you might want to try mini spot EUR fx with a broker that lets you do this first ... before trading the EUR future but of course ... its your choice and your money :)

sometimes the beg of the year can mark the top or bottom of that yrs move so if you are short the Euro keep a tight stop on ! good luck

hey I got a new idea for a cartoon on tv lets call it the ET funnies ... every week a different story and all the characters always berating each other when not smashing their keyboards trading online or in prop shops :p

IB does have a percent error safeguard feature ... that helps prevent errors ... I believe the customer can set the filter to as little as he desires. one problem I see is the various exchanges have different rules on fines for errors.

SSF's can be too illiquid for daytrading but I agree that perhaps for swing trading its ok to give up the spread to get in and out

looks like gold ZG had some nutty action shortly after 8:30 am EST dropped $5-10 on up to 200+ contracts came back to the figure within a minute somebody has got to do something about this ... its dangerous ... :eek:
