Today was the first time I ever actually looked at SPY options as they're trading. As far as options go it just doesn't get any better than a .01 cent spread and liquidity out the wazoo.

Are you playing large size for intraday move, or is this a multi-day hold? I'm also interested in SPY puts play but back month for a longer term swing. Waiting to see if we get a test of highs first.

A 72% YTD return is nothing to sneeze at either.

Stayed up half the night, slept through most of the first half the day, and the action after that was not to my liking, so all I did was sim trade CL short off the lower high.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I've had a tendency all my life to throw myself into anything that needs to be done, and when a passion grabs me, then I'm all in. Trading is now a passion for me because it appears to be Opportunity knocking very loudly. I sincerely hope Opportunity...

Thanks, AMT. Through my sim trading and market study in general I've come to see the value in your strategy, and it fits my comfort level as well. I see that ES is now pressing a price zone that I've been contemplating for an initial foray to the short side for a swing position (1071).

Definitely a lot of potential. Friday's action displayed no conviction. The trend is still the trend followers' friend and some of the big players have stated they will continue to buy every dip, but bull markets don't pull much farther from the 200-day MA than this last run to October highs...

We are "Elite" traders, niteowl. Neke's performance this week was "less bad" than the prior week. As all truly Elite traders have learned this year, "less bad" means green shoots are on the way.

Hog is for real and has opened my eyes to many nuances of trading since I started day trading in summer 2008. He also told me about the Al Brooks book a few months ago and for that I'm forever thankful!

This is why I'm still hurling sim cars with CL. I placed a stop order to trigger on pending news once and was down $1128 the minute it was filled because of the slippage alone. Thank god for sim, I learned NEVER trade CL until the news is on the table.
