    Suspend "Cash for Clunkers"?

You really need to take a deep breadth and relax . . . As I recall, there were a few "glitches" during Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina too. And in that situation, human lives were at stake, not automobiles.

    Ewj: elliott wave

Mup, don't forget to look at the OIH this weekend. Last week's decline was contained by the 40 day MA at 99.43 and yesterday's low came in right at the 21 day MA at 101.00 If Thursday's high at 104.28 doesn't get taken out early next week, the OIH might get hit for at least a "C" down of 6...

Last day of the month, time for a little "mark-up"? :D Maybe, maybe not.

    Ewj: elliott wave

Mup, The huge collapse in the Dollar today sure did spike the crude oil back up past the weekly high of Monday at $68.45 I'd love to see BTU and PTEN crash here, but we are going to need a rally in the US Dollar in order to make that happen, eh? Mup, if BTU is going to collapse down...

    Cash for clunkers NOT suspended......

The ET "neo-cons" are pretty funny, that is for sure. They rail against "Cap & Trade" even though McCain AND Palin supported a cap on carbon emissions. Most here don't even understand that the version of "Cap & Trade" that passed the House was totally "gutted". 85% of the pollution credits...

GDP growth better than expected. Who says this rally is not deserved?

Agreed 100% Romer is keenly aware of what happened during the Great Depression and how the government responded. It's what she built her career on.

    Obama is killing Afghanistan civilians.

You just can't swallow the FACT that your beloved "train-wrecked" GOP didn't support the troops with the necessary war funding needed to get them to the new fiscal year. 85% of the Emergency War Funding Bill from last month went to support the troops and military operations, not too mention...

    Suspend "Cash for Clunkers"?

You must have missed the GDP report earlier this morning . . . The savings rate by the consumer jumped sharply - - - to 5.2% in Q2, the highest since 1998!

GDP growth better than expected. Who says this rally is not deserved?

If you ACTUALLY look at the numbers lately, there has been a stabilization in the manufacturing sector even with this RECORD BREAKING LIQUIDATION in Inventories of $141 Billion. This is very bullish and will lead to a larger "snap-back" in the Economy for the second half of 2009 in my opinion...

GDP growth better than expected. Who says this rally is not deserved?

Excellent point. This was certainly true as of the end of June, where the CP market shriveled to $1.15 trillion outstanding - - - the lowest since November of 2000. However, it is possible that the CP market is not being used as much by corporate CFO's in lieu of longer term financing...

GDP growth better than expected. Who says this rally is not deserved?

Exactly. And the market is already discounting the eventual turn into positive territory. That's what markets do.

    Obama is killing Afghanistan civilians.

Exactly. And that's why all of these neo-cons on ET are so laughable. Obama is a lot more "middle of the road" and mainstream than the far right want him to be. Otherwise, they have a difficult time attacking him and defining their own Agenda. And when it comes to Defense, I believe that...

    Obama is killing Afghanistan civilians.

You may have been drinking that kind of "Kool-Aid" but not me. One quick look to see who Obama appointed as his NSA and Defense Secretary would have told you that. Yet, conservatives on Faux News were ranting and raving about how Obama was going to "gut" the military and weaken the DoD and...

Cash For Clunkers: Now that was a well run Government Program

Leave it to Dr. Jerk-Off to actually believe that GM and Chrysler would have been able to return to "viability" within 3 months. Given their cash burn rate, that's so freakin' LAUGHABLE, I don't even know where to begin. It's clear that you have no idea what you are doing. For your sake, I...

Cash For Clunkers: Now that was a well run Government Program

I would tend to agree. But it does not address my point. Where were all of the fiscally conservative and free-market ET'rs when Bush gave out $17.4 BILLION to GM and Chrysler? Answer: Nowhere to be found.

POLL: Do you believe "birthers" essentially cannot accept a black man as their prez?

The next thing you are going to tell all of us "Giggles" is that Bush was fiscally conservative. Please. I know when I jumped off the GOP "bandwagon" . . . when did you?

rightwingers. the train is leaving the station.

Once again, you show that you clearly FAILED at BASIC MATH. :D Bush sworn into office: 1/17/2001 Dow at: 10,584 Bush leaves office: 1/20/2009 Dow at: 7,949 Dow (loss): 2,635 points. Just the FACTS. :p

Still has to come up in the House for a vote, and Senate as well. Perhaps next week.

    Cash for clunkers NOT suspended......

Exactly. This is one of the most direct and effective stimulus plans that has been rolled out thus far. Car dealers able to sell 250,000 vehicles in about a week . . . Wow!!!

GDP growth better than expected. Who says this rally is not deserved?

The slashing of inventories at a record pace of $141 billion is no doubt very bullish. The increase in the consumer's savings rate to 5.2% in Q2, the highest since 1998 is also bullish. Consumer spending got revised downward in Q1, and continues to contract. That is the other side of the...
