Bernanke's Play = Monetizing the Debt

Gnome, with all due respect this is nothing new. It has been going on for decades.

Bernanke's Play = Monetizing the Debt

I would tend to agree with this view. The worldwide search for liquidity just doesn't stop with the "bad" collateral . . . it eventually gets to the "good" collateral as well. A lot of people here on ET fail to realize this, or simply cast it off as some sort of neat little economic...

    Crude Oil Drops 40%...

I guess you weren't around when the COMEX got a phone call from the White House and went to 100% margin and screwed the Hunt Brothers royally. Can you say liquidation only? Sure. I knew ya could! :D

My way of fighting the fed, I cannot sit still anymore

And yet my words were sufficient enough to have threatened you and your ego enough to produce three consecutive posts, including a bit of plagiarism. Interesting.

    Bernake Killing Middle Class

I'm not sure where you get this information from. The FED has NOT been printing money. The TAF's are temporary repurchase agreements and so are the latest actions announced by the FED yesterday . . . the main difference being the fact that the FED is finally allowing and facilitating the...

Surf that is classic! Maybe she is worth $4,000 :D

    CNBC Clowns!

Perhaps because most of the people here on ET really don't trade for a living. As a result, it's a lot less risky to spend most of your day watching CNBC and criticizing the "experts". A poster here by the name of S2007S certainly comes to mind in that regard. :p

Video: CNBC host Jim Cramer in tears over Spitzer

I wish that someone could have given "Dumbya" a BJ years ago so that we could have spared the Country a lot of pain.

Video: CNBC host Jim Cramer in tears over Spitzer

Unless you are Barry Bonds and your Dad taught you at a very early age not to give a rat's ass what anybody thinks! :D

My way of fighting the fed, I cannot sit still anymore

You make a very mistaken ( and I would suggest highly "naive" ) assumption that only the players that "got their hands caught in the Jar - Citi, BoA, Merrill, etc. will go under." Again, you fail to appreciate the magnitude of the problem that this Country faces . . . and while your cut and...

How do people trade in the pits?

Nice post, and kudos to everyone who contributed to this thread. It's one of the more MEANINGFUL threads on ET these days. :D It's been awhile since I traded on the floor in NYC as an independent "local". I left officially in the Summer of 1993 shortly after the "first" terrorist attack in...

My way of fighting the fed, I cannot sit still anymore

This might come as news to you but the United States has one of the LOWEST savings rates in the world . . . In fact, in 2005 it actually dipped into negative territory which hasn't happened since the Great Depression. That's right. A negative savings rate for an ENTIRE year! As a result...

My Nomination For Post of The Year!

You mean like Norway where per-capita GDP is the second highest in the world but the government controls 31.6% of publicly listed companies . . . or are you talking about the FREE market economics of allowing sub-prime loan portfolios to be leveraged at a 33:1 ratio? As long as the United...

Are you on drugs??? Alan Greenspan was the one who created this problem in the FIRST place!

My way of fighting the fed, I cannot sit still anymore

You are either a little kid that is extremely lonely and enjoys playing on the Internet, or you are being paid by the owners of this website to create "web-activity". I vote the latter. That's why ET has become as devalued as the U.S. dollar.

And please tell me where do "new" companies and and "new" technologies get capital from in order to emerge and grow? Have you ever thought of that? Guess not.

If what you say is true, then why have mortgage rates been rising since January 18th of this year? (from 5.49% to 6.27% on a 30-year) I thought that you and your buddy "Papa Roach" have been saying that the FED has been cutting rates, no?

My way of fighting the fed, I cannot sit still anymore

I'm sorry, but you continue to show a total lack of basic understanding of ECONOMICS and how it works . . . either that or you have a terribly poor level of reading comprehension. I have also noticed that your grammar is rather poor too as in your repeated misuse of the word "there" vs "their"...

My way of fighting the fed, I cannot sit still anymore

You could use a course in "Reading Comprehension" . . . the press release from the FED yesterday stated that those 28 day loans will go on "as long as needed".
