See DJI chart with 200 day MA

I think you are mistaken. The 200 day MA is not respected by the DJI. The 200 day MA has frequently been "violated" only to see the Dow Jones rally back in very strong fashion. Look at the chart in August of 2007 where the Dow broke the 200 day MA by 400 points and then went on to rally...

Our dear "friends" at Elliott Wave Theorist have been persistently BEARISH for many many moons now. Thus, they have a very strong tendency to only SEE what they want to SEE - - - especially if it has a BEARISH bias or angle to it.

I don't think that they are in CONTROL per se, but they are extremely "nimble" as opposed to all of the other I-Bank research. Hence, the stepping down of Abbey Joseph Cohen as chief market strategist, having been replaced recently by David Kostin, as per Cohen's request.

Watch the "crack" spread. That will give you the best indicator of a turn in the refining sector. Right now, the refiners might just have to go "off-line" in order to stabilize these weak 'cracks' and that would mean much lower revs. http://www.oilintel.com/spothome.cfm?loc_id=7
