    Jokes

President Bush, one bright sunny morning, turns to his lovely wife and says, “Laura, we’re going fishing this weekend, you, me and the dog.” Laura grimaces, “But I don’t like fishing!” “Look! We’re going fishing and that’s final.” “Do I have to go fishing with you... I...

Anyone notice an uptick exempt edge?

God damn it! I guess Ford isn't on list A. That would have been a sweet fill, short size F at 9.96!

    GM....ouch

I've been trading for 10 years, but never put on a conversion or reverse conversion.

Option special situations (no earnings before expiry)

Sorry, but I hate this trade. Risk is 9 times reward. Even if the asbestos bill gets passed, I think the news is already priced in. I'd love the bill to pass, and USG to gap way up. That'd be a sweet short.

    GM....ouch

There are many strikes eligible for the reverse conversion play, but I'll provide just one example: Short GM at 32.07 Short GM May 32.50 puts at 1.85 Long GM May 32.50 calls at 0.65 Locked in profit is $77 per hundred shares, realized in just 2 1/2 weeks.

    GM....ouch

HUGE GM OPTIONS SKEW: I really need to get into the reverse conversions game. Free money for the taking, putting on reverse conversions here. (Short GM stock, long synthetic).

Where can I buy Gold bars?

Yes, I was just about to say: If you want to pay up a few bucks for no reason, go to KitCo or Alaron. If you want the best possible price, professional service and quick delivery, buy from Tulving. http://www.tulving.com/goldbull.html ...and yes. Hold a one ounce gold bar or coin in...

    How should a newb trade 50 K

Richard Dennis is the master of making people think he knows how to trade, and then taking quick 50%+ drawdowns. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=479098

    CNBC - Cramer's Mad Money

Which play? RIMM? The RIMM calls I shorted the day before earnings collapsed over 60% the next day and I got out. I never use Cramer as a sole indicator. I put alot more research into my trades than just blindly fading Cramer. I like the Moron Index (Yahoo message boards) alot better as a...

Prop Blowups, how common are they?

Right, throwing size market orders at all the bank stocks the second the news hit Reuters was highly profitable, despite having to pay up a few bucks. That's how I recovered a big part of my loss.

Prop Blowups, how common are they?

January 3rd, 2001. A day that will live in infamy. Market was acting weak, and I was short heavily in all my accounts. Suddenly the fed cuts interest rates by half a point. WHAT THE FUCK? I let out a loud blood curdling shriek. There wasn't even a fed meeting that day, and this was the first...

    if china floats the yuan

Philippinos hate the Japanese too. Japan committed horrific acts in China and the Philippines during WW2, and they're not properly accepting their guilt and responsibility.

    if china floats the yuan

There are none. OK, I guess you meant that once the Yuan is floated, Yuan futures would exist, which is certainly true. However, they wouldn't trade anywhere near the current 1:1 ratio of the pegged Yuan.

    if china floats the yuan

Here are some statistics: According to the U.S. government, 13.4% of all imported goods came from China in 2004. China only bought 4.2% of U.S. exports. Rank Country Imports (Year-to-Date) Percent of Total --- Total, All Countries 1,471.0 100.0% --- Total, Top 15 Countries 1,125.1...

    Black Monday ??

Got long AAPL at the close, to sell right at the open when it opens a bit higher Monday...along with the rest of the market IMO. Check out one of my favovorite contrarian indicators, what I call the 'moron index' (Yahoo message boards). Almost all the posts are bearish...

    spam is profitable.
