Worldco Llc - Walter Bruan Scott Comes Out Of Hiding..

To ......meg......ad........on......., You sure you're not talking about Steven Schonfeld? Walter is no better than Phillip Bennett (Refco). Perhaps they'll share a cell one day.

Countless Joseph A. Bank Clothiers commercials on CNBC:

Yes, you want it? Cheap. I only use my other car. Honestly, it was a dumb impulse buy. I always loved how the old Dirk Diggler vettes looked...until I owned one. It may have been a fast, high performance vehicle back in the 70's, but not by today's standards. BTW, do you have a...

Countless Joseph A. Bank Clothiers commercials on CNBC:

Most of you have probably noticed the massive advertsing blitz JOSB is currently conducting on CNBC. You also know that the purpose of airing endless (and very annoying, in this case) ads on CNBC is all about selling JOSB stock- not selling clothing. The natural question therefore, is: Why...

    Stocks vs. Derivatives vs. Forex:

This poll will provide interesting statistical data for all of us, once more traders submit their answers. Deserves just one bump, before I give up on it...

    Stocks vs. Derivatives vs. Forex:

If more than ten options were allowed, I could have made this poll a hell of alot better. I have certain expectations as to how the poll results will read. As usual, I'll delay expressing & explaining my theories for a few days, in order not to influence the outcome of this poll. (Mods...

Are some markets are tougher to trade than others?

MODS: Please delete this typo plagued mess. The new, typo free version is here.

New Rogue Trader hits the Copper Market, gets Squeezed

I'd love to see many more government-run trading firms taking big positions. Inefficiencies are a trader's lifeblood, and what could be more inefficient than government? :D

    better not take losses

"I hear some alegedly better discretionary traders talk about how cutting losses short ie. setting stoplosses is not the right thing to do." -----> Of course. "They said they rather work the position until it's profitable before getting out." ------> Who ever said that? Flexible exit...

    Is prop trading rubbish ?

Dantes made many valid points in his informative post. Ebo, have you <b>ever</b> posted anything remotely useful or interesting on these boards? As far as I've seen, you're nothing but a pure troll, here to perform the sole function of degenerating ET's signal to noise ratio.

FDG -- am I seeing this right?

"Fording (nyse: FDG - news - people )distributes most of the income it receives from its mining interests as dividends to unit-holders. Based on annualizing the most recent payout, Fording yields 17.3%. But if you figure yield by totaling the past 12 months of payouts, the stock yields a lower...

    Is prop trading rubbish ?

Ahhh... but that wasn't the only bet. When the Bulls got totally dismantled the instant Jordan retired, you said they'd have the very worst NBA record the following season. My reply was to give you 5-1 (I think) odds on that prediction...which you lost to me. :D

Lowest weekly Put-Call reading all year

IMO, the put-call ratio really isn't that useful. Here's a much better indicator: http://www.vtoreport.com/sentiment/sentiment.htm

FXCM Is Buying RefcoFX - Deal is Done - Funds are safe

FXCM clients who make money get put on manual execution. I'm not a forex guy, but I remember reading that here on ET.

    Is prop trading rubbish ?

Yes, I made a pretty lousy bookie/oddsmaker in the exciting field of 'Which of the three possible suitors the studio audience will pick on the TV show 'The Dating Game', while we were all watching/betting on that crap because the market was so slow.' :D :D :D

    Is prop trading rubbish ?

That third option best describes it. 30-1 leverage and (comparatively) low commission rates.

    Tightest morning range EVER!

The total amount of funds I have on deposit in all of my trading accounts combined is only 17% of my net worth. Therefore, even if I were to get completely and suddenly wiped out in both my equities and options accounts, I'd be 'fine', and could just write a check the next day to keep trading at...

    Is prop trading rubbish ?

When you put up 5K of your own money for 30-1 pro leverage, that's called pro, not prop. Prop trading is when a trading firm provides 100% of your trading capital to trade their systems. Prop trading for Schonfeld is how I got rich, so it isn't rubbish.

    Tightest morning range EVER!

Perhaps 'all the good traders' were <b>taught</b> to always place stop orders, but they became good traders by discarding such destructive advice: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54604&highlight=stop+orders
