    S&P Closes Above 1000

He's in the same place as that Buylowsellhigh character. Who, ironically, preferred to sell low and not buy at all. I'd say that we'll see S2007S disappear soon as well, but i don't think this guy really gets it...He is forever bearish and I suspect nothing will ever change his mind, no...

    Global bank tax

Flaherty has reiterated his defiance of a global bank tax today. He cites the fact that a global bank tax encourages reckless behaviour and risk taking due to the fact that banks know they will be bailed out if they mess up. Personally, I hope G20 countries (with the exception of Canada)...

    Global bank tax

Exactly. Instead, Canada is going to propose that banks require to keep emergency contingency capital on hand. I think this is a better option as it prevents banks from passing on the tax to consumers, which we all know will happen.

Bank of Canada Signals G-7’s First Rate Increases

The press up here widely believes a rate hike to come out of the June meeting. It is inevitable at this point, just a matter of if it happens in June or a month or two later.

    Global bank tax

Won't happen. For a global bank tax to work, everybody needs to be on board. Canada has already stated it will not take part in any type of global bank tax. I posted the link in a Canadian economy thread a week or so ago.

    Next bubble: $600 trillion?

Interest rate swaps save companies money in interest expense. I don't know about this specific Harvard example, but there is nothing wrong with interest rate swaps in general.

SEC Democrats voted in favor of suing Goldman, Republicans against it

Given the money machine that is GS, this could actually have implications via increased political contributions to Republicans. Could help come election time. Then again, maybe this article is irrelevant.

It was a joke. Lighten up a touch.

    SEC charges GS with fraud

Nobody in those neighbourhoods would know the first thing about "shorting a house". They would probably think nothing of the t-shirt.

This comment destroyed your post. I think it was meant to be a plus for the USA but unfortunately your election process is extremely flawed.

Did you just quote yourself in real-time?

POLL: Do you think the majority of "birthers" are racist?

Moderated. If there is a swear word in the quote please erase it then post. 1. Gab doesn't represent Canadians. 2. As an American, please don't complain about other countries minding their own business.

    Time to invade North Korea

Well that's very generous of you, but I doubt a couple thousand dollars from "peilthetraveler, concerned ET resident" will be enough. Start a fundraising campaign for the invasion of North Korea and see how far you get.
