Churches should absolutely have to pay taxes. This is actually one of the main reasons I despise religion. Just because I believe or don't believe in certain things does not mean I should have to pay taxes and you don't.

Gaurenteed against default or not, the fact of the matter is they did not need that gaurentee because they do not take excessive risk that threatens the entire financial system.

The way I see it is - 20K that is 100% sure to be a waste, or 20K that at least has a chance to be of use. Even if just $10 is spent on those kids to get them some pencils or something.
