Actually, it is illogical for you to believe that scientific progress will stop. History repeats itself. Science and technology has advanced from the dawn of time. It is this principle that I am basing my argument for future space travel on. Now THAT is logic.

Take a simple example. If we can travel x amount of km's MORE in space each year, would you not agree that some time in the future the amount of km's we can travel will be substantially more than now? It may take 2000 more years, but eventually mankind will be able to travel great...

Of course it is not fact. Not yet at least. But think logically for once. The rapid pace of scientific advancement with regard to space travel over the past ~100 years is likely to continue. Can you not see that it is only a matter of time before humans can travel great distances in space?
