oh yea, not going to leave my broker...and not going to buy the $500.00 SPAN platform to do it by myself...it is weird...the web can offer anything...but...not SPAN"ballpark" margin requirements...

there should be a "user friendly" website that would provide the SPAN for a given option that is sold...someone has got to offer that for free and you just go to the website and "Click"...any thoughts?

I would imagine my euro example should only be like couple hundred bucks..aggre?only couple days till expiration..that must factor in...also...cant see my ES example being $4,500..should be like $800...hmmm...4500 seems high

thanks for your post... yea, I need to somehow get an easy method to calculate the margin required when selling in or out of the money ES options...or any other Futures options...I'll ask my broker...unless someone here can easily in simple language spell it out...thanks again

I honestly believe the DOM for any contract is deceiving...why...many "fake" orders could be entered...also...many could be covering a short position etc. rather than entering one...no way to know...so, would not put much "stock" in following the DOM of ES, YM etc.
