Are there more risks with indices?

Not even that, I don't think. For someone to choose the equal weighted, he must be thinking the SPY/equivalent is too heavily represented by the top 50 companies. That should be enough diversification for anybody.

Compute the implied correlation of a Portfolio

Whaddya mean, "throw shots"? I was handing out a "pearl of trading wisdom". Sometimes the pinnacle of sophistication is simplicity. Especially true in trading, though not many players catch on.

    Where's the top?

It's likely. The BOJ is said to own 75% of the entire ETF market there. We're likely to experience something similar here.

What's the deal with Sierra Chart these days?

Have to wonder whether that was part of SC's business plan all along... It's kind of a laffer... Give potential customers "something for free", get 'em hooked, then charge 'em up the wazoo.... you know, the "drug dealer model". :)

What's the deal with Sierra Chart these days?

Yup. The "way of the world". Bottom Line, IMV... If you're already set up with SC and like it, pay 'em. The effort to save the $300/yr in fees might be more than it's worth. And besides... if you're trading even a 1-lot, you're putting ~ $200,000 into play. What's $300 compared to that? In...

Geez... who doesn't like "free tit"? :)

    That's web-based, right?

What's the deal with Sierra Chart these days?

That's what it sounds like. Could be SC received a discounted fee when paid by brokers... but now SC can charge higher fee (eliminate the broker discount) to customers when paid directly. ?? Wifey's employer's retirement plan administrator went through something similar a few years back...

What's the deal with Sierra Chart these days?

Sierra doing this separate billing only on CQG customers??

Compute the implied correlation of a Portfolio

You didn't respond, so I'll follow up... In case you're thinking I'm some sort of noob, au contraire... Apparently you (and many others) see trading the markets as a complicated endeavor rather than a simple one... like chess vs. checkers. Price TA, KISS is more like checkers. And because...

Are there more risks with indices?

Dunno. I don't think it's one we really need. It's just a choice.

Compute the implied correlation of a Portfolio

Meryl Streep responds to Donald Trump calling her 'overrated'

This is just hilarious! Don't you have to ask, "just how much admiration and credibility should be ascribed to someone whose job and life vocation is to "pretend to be someone"? :)

Compute the implied correlation of a Portfolio

Is this "stock market chess"? If so, suggest you focus on "checkers". KISS, baby... as always. :)
  17. Scataphagos

Are there more risks with indices?

The SP 500 is a "cap-weighted index", so of course it's skewed towards the largest companies (there are ETFs which are "equal weighted", if one wants that). No real faults to either. Anyone can find more "concentration/specialization/leverage" as they wish.

How can it be an "insurrection"... where there were no firearms found?
