Gov. Christie To Reporter: "Are You Stupid?"

I don't care how he bahaves if he doesn't break the law. He's a good governor, that's all I want from him. Obama is well presented, careful, polite for the most part. Yet, he's also the worst president in history. I would switch him with Christie in a NJ minute. I remember back in grad...

Angels Spotted At Flight 93 Crash Site

My father told me this story from WWII, when as a lieutenant of the paratroopers in the Greek army he was fighting Mussolini's troops up on the mountains of Albania - a couple weeks after Christmas 1940: That night, his group of about 30 men was tired, wet, hungry, most of them bloody...

Gov. Christie To Reporter: "Are You Stupid?"

NJ is the most heavily taxed state in the country and upper middle class folks have been leaving for lower tax states like FL. Without them, how's he going to ever balance his budget? He knows what he's doing but the gimmee/gimmee/gimmee crowd will never get it.

    Jokes 2

The drill sergeant making his morning announcements to a group of newcomers in a training camp, stated: "Today, gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. First, the good news Private Peters will be setting the pace on our morning run.” With this the platoon was overjoyed, as...

You are probably referring to Elisha... we know very little of the total circumstances of that event and it could have been very different than what it looks like.

Yes, many times, trust me, it takes lots of patience, skill and prayerful attitude to understand and follow it. Every passage relates to a given time and special circumstances: in this case who St Paul was talking to and what question he was answering. Don't just take a sentence here and another...

Yes, there's a lot of murder and cruelty talked about in the Bible, and also even more love and self sacrifice... it's the human side of things, what these folks went through trying to approach God. God was not torturing Abraham: as this man claimed to see and understand God, he received a...

I agree with that. Be very careful, most religious-like claims are not real. But the (unsupported) belief that "science" is it, is even more misleading, because it closes the door to real knowledge. Like, for example, questioning who created the universe and everything (including things...

As I said, the Bible is not an easy book to understand and interpret. But it is easy to follow, like its main teaching to love everybody.

What kind of answer do you expect? A book/passage? A teacher/interpreter? Something that you would call "scientific"? Can you understand what I'm talking about wrt sources of knowledge we all have available to us?

This post is kind of hard to decipher, so let me give you a scientific example: you cannot see an electron or any elementary particle, let alone a photon that you use to see things with. Yet, scientists believe they are there. They use their own tools, paradigms, accelerators, various axioms...

As I stated before, parts of the Bible is symbolic, parts is historical and other parts are just for teaching. You need to have appropriate training, deep faith and live a religious life to be able to tell what's meant by each segment, if anything.
