In practice the insurance companies can and do sometimes pay their portion of the bill before the deductible is paid. I think (guess) it may depend on the aggressiveness of the bill collecting dept. of the hospital.

I pay a fraction of taxes that scat says he pays but I'm sure my taxes hit my lifestyle harder than his does his lifestyle. I have a few friends that make that kind of money that scat talks about and I don't hear them bitching and moaning, well except for one guy and he inherited his business...

I agree clean house. Impose term limits and campaign finance restrictions, we don't need corporate, billionaire, PAC's and special interest picking all our congressmen. I think a lot of these guys look at politics as a path to fame and fortune. Clean house!
