    Why will this not work?

This was your initial breakdown of your strategy, which you did correct. "sell Mar 3 840 call for $4195 break evenstockprice is $881" Your expiry was incorrect and expired, your strike price was wrong, hence your premium was wrong.Just for shits and giggles,if you sell 3. 840 calls and collect...

    Why will this not work?

You are going to get brutally f#$%d with this strategy.... If you want to sell the call, sell it with a stop.. Why on earth would you take 80 points of heat, and then then buy 100 shares of stock at 830?? You go from not hedging at 750 to way over hedging at 830?? And why on earth are you...

    Why will this not work?

Dude, where are you coming up with these prices and expiration?? 3/3 is gone.. Are you talking about 3/27 expiration??? If so,the 840's are trading at apx 31 dollars.. Im guessing you are looking at the 940's at apx 14?? And your breakeven analysis is f#$ed... You dont take the premium...

    Why will this not work?

I rarely reccomend excessive leverage, but if you can still collect 14 for 840 calls that expired yesterday, than go for it:)

Noobie question about probability of ITM (math, probability)

It's a ballpark apx.. Ignoring crazy vol/high int rates, most .50 delta options are close to ATM..So an option with a .52 delta is almost certain to be touched, hence a close double of Delta. Obviously options ITM with Deltas above .55 are already touching,so no need for mental math-turrbation

    Option repair/remedy

That's not option repair, thats putting on another trade that only makes sense if vol really popped.. If you were flat coming in with no position, would you buy stock at 50 and also put on the 1×2 ?? Trade vol, trade skew, trade direction...Each trade should stand on its own

TSLA Tesla's YOY Growth is 11%, can it stop to being manipulate to crash to 1 thirdth?

Not quite sure where you are going on this one.. What does "YOY growth Rate" have to do with valuation on a company that loses money? Im guessing you havent looked at a DCF model..Go to GuruFocus https://www.gurufocus.com/stock/TSLA/dcf Plug in FCF as opposed to EPS.. The only model in the...

what is the best way to trade spread at ib?

I don't think IB rebates you if you supply liquidity on spreads. I was getting hit for 6 bucks per fly vs a flat 2.40 at TOS . With that said, the reduction in commish comes at a price.

What are some Basic Strategies that have Worked for You?

That was in a higher vol enviorment.I haven't checked, but I can't imagine the strategy has faired that well vs buy and hold. Hard to outperform a runaway bull market by selling puts non leveraged.

Why are you trying to achieve the impossible?

Meriwether blows up the first time to the tune of 4 billion plus, them gets his ass handed to him in his second hedge fund, once again using excessive leverage.. Think you mean self serving dirtbag as opposed to good trader...

Why are you trying to achieve the impossible?

You can't have "knew how to trade" and "a matter of incentives that pushed them to excessive leverage" in the same sentence. And I worked at Salomon pre merger as well as their acquiring firm Smith Barney. Brilliant guys who had a propensity to blow up...
