Chef, one thing you left out regarding Des is hes a really good trader...
He understands risk reward, and typically puts himself in a position where he can make alot more that he loses(jump right in Des)..
"Guy like you" dont fund guys like Des...Its not like the condor market is 2 bid at 3.50...
Dum Dum,you caught a V bottom and were backspread.. Great timing,no more no less..
Again,don't confuse luckl with brains
Christmas comes once a year
Des 1000 bucks already made your year...
Grasshopper,
I will lead you from the path of darkness..
.Close your eyes, and repeat my words. Its not too late.
You have a mishmash of a backspread and a calender..Nothing specialhere
Be like Water
IC, Unless the market craters, this will be a learning experience for Sweetness..
There is zero edge to this strategy, there is no strategy that "fits all sizes",irregardless of market conditions...
Selling more puts to balance out the cost of the longs removes Bobby's lucky chip....
No...
LOL,neither have I,but I would never say backtesting is useless...
Its like training for a fight in the UFC and choosing not to watch any tape of the guy anxiously awaiting to mangle a limb, choke the life out of you or rearrange your face...
@jcdst...Lets forget about backtesting for one moment....
Whats your thoughts on "experience"/ time at the game" as it relates to success and trading?
Is that not another form of "backtesting"??
Not sure where you are going on your backtesting opinions
And FWIW,and as i am sure you...
Sorry to break up the love fest, but how on earth are you down for the year???
You caught the perfect storm and were backspread bare minimum 1.6 to 1 with strikes 2 percent wide..
You state you were not trading like Karen..Not trying to bust your balls, but woukd you be kind enough to tell us...
Hypothetically,he could sell 3 AMZN 5 point wide put spreads at 4..Max risk 300 dollars..
Getting assigned on the short put doesn't change the risk, but will turn the position into a synthetic call.. Long Stock/Long Put..
Im not sure of the cap hit,but he could have simply exercised his long...
Bobby, the difference between long 1.66 to 1 vs 2 a 1 ratio is really a subjective market call..
Its interesting how tight your strike differential is(apx 1.5%)
