It’s a Miserable Life – Trading and Depression

I asked the question because I did the opposite of your approach. I went from being a long term investor to a trader or speculator. I took early retirement in 2000 and watched my nest-egg get decimated in the years that followed. Granted the market did recover and I held through the downturn...

    Exits

You would think that a subject as important as this would garner more replys. The thread on the price of mayonaise started about the same time has over 200. Maybe this should become Elite Shopper. Anyhow on Exits. An exit strategy should answer 3 questions. 1. What is my risk and how do...

Will a bank give you a line of credit to buy stocks?

Banks only lend you money when you don't need it. If you can score a line of credit for 300k on a personal guarantee, you probably don't need it.

MARKETS Fidelity to open commission-free crypto trading to retail investors

Why would you compare BTC to a stock? The spread on AAPL is 2 cents. On 1000 shares thats 20 bucks. (trans = 140K) To buy 140K of bitcoin with a 1% spread is 1.4K (Hardly comparable)

MARKETS Fidelity to open commission-free crypto trading to retail investors

While trades with Fidelity Crypto will be free of commission fees, the firm says it will factor in a 1% spread into every trade execution price. That's 2% per round trip. But it's commission free!!!

Deribit halts withdrawal after 28MM hack

The definition of hacking aside; Someone managed to steal from a crypto exchange. It didn't cost any clients anything this time. (next time if the amount is greater, who knows) This doesn't give a vote of confidence to the general public.

    Advice to new a trader

No I'm telling you I plan to buy stocks that are going up. And like Will Rogers if they don't go up I don't buy them. The thread is advice to new traders. I advise them to have a written plan and follow it. If you are an experienced trader and don't need a plan then more power to you. If a...
