    Dug out my copy. 2nd edition. Copyright 1988. :) Still worth reading. It's one of the books I recommend to anyone who is interested in stocks.

    That's one of the first things you will specify in your trading plan. Trading plan specifies; What to trade When to trade How much to trade When to sell. You want to write it so that you could hire someone to trade for you and they would know exactly what to do.

    That is what I recall also. If a stock moves 20% in less than 4 weeks hold for a big move although there was no specific method of getting out. The 10 week MA was mentioned.

    Canslim has a 7% stop loss from the buy point. If a stock continues to perform you can use a trailing stop, not necessarily at 7%. There is no law that says you cannot rebuy a stock if you sell it. A trader would have been in and out of AMZN several times as it ebbed and flowed.

    Use a Darvas approach. Buy momentum stocks and have a method of getting out when the trend breaks.

    We control when we get in and out of a trade. I don't consider it gambling. If you do then I hope you have good luck.:)

    But are you gambling? Losing is just part of trading. Just because you know you might lose doesn't mean you are gambling. It's part of a winning strategy.

    You will have to define gambling. I sounds to me that you know what you are doing. You have figured out an edge and are taking advantage of it. You know going into a trade what the outcome will be. Doesn't sound like much of a gamble to me.
