    Performance Benchmark Instruments?

Oh I know he isn't. His system apparently works very well for him. It's just not for me. I like to keep things simple. The more information I have the more likely it is that I'll be influenced to stay in a trade to long.

    Performance Benchmark Instruments?

I'm a long only trader. Either long or cash. Not sure about a basket of Hedge funds. Remember the Buffet bet where he did a buy and hold of the S&P against a basket of hedge funds over a period of 10 years. Million bucks and I think he got paid off early. If I followed @longandshort I'd end...

Educators who Have Zero proof they even trade (99%) - wtf?

I doubt I'll ever get there. If my trading results were not important then I wouldn't be trading. The results of anything I put my hand to must be important or I wouldn't be doing it.

Educators who Have Zero proof they even trade (99%) - wtf?

I have set and attained what I considered a reasonable goal several times. I just move the goal posts. I am enjoying my life and still tinkering with my strategy.

    Performance Benchmark Instruments?

What would you suggest as a benchmark for a swing trader who trades the Canadian market? I suppose I could just pick a percentage, not that it matters because the only one who really cares is me, but to compare myself to other traders I felt that SPY was a reasonable choice.

Educators who Have Zero proof they even trade (99%) - wtf?

If 1% of your account is meaningless might that not lead to giving a losing trade a little more room to see if it turns around? Eventually emotion comes back into play.

    Performance Benchmark Instruments?

Swing Trader.. I use SPY because most traders, whether day or swing, don't seem to be able to outperform a simple buy and hold strategy. Does it matter what type of trader you are? If you can't outperform a simple buy and hold, maybe that's where you should have you money.

    Memorable Quotes and Advice

I don't have a screen up that shows P&L. I'm a swing trader, use EOD data, set on stop entries and exits for the next day. At the end of the day I check the account balance when it's too late to react to it.

    Performance Benchmark Instruments?

I use SPY; Apparently a good percentage of professionals (Hedge fund & Mutual fund managers) have trouble beating a buy and hold SPY strategy. If I can't outperform that benchmark, I'd be better off just investing in the ETF.

    Memorable Quotes and Advice

What do you think of it as? You took a trade and preserved your capital by taking a loss then moved on to the next trade. You followed your plan yet you lost the amount you had planned on. I try not to think of the money. I measure my performance by whether I followed my plan. Each trade has an...

    Can anyone teach me trading?

I'm curious about your experience in tutoring? Did you do it as a side hustle or as a way of challenging yourself? Congrats on your engagement, that's riskier than trading. :)

    Death Cross

Damn I've been doing it all wrong!! Here I only trade a couple patterns and I wait patiently for them to show up. Sometimes I sit for weeks at a time because I can't find the set-up I like. When I put my money to work I want it to do something, not just sit there waiting for a trend. As for...

    Death Cross

Really? You think that might be part of the Holy Grail that traders are searching for? But if you don't have patterns where do you enter the trade and put your other skill to work? From what I understand those other skill alone are not enough of an edge.
