As long as a merchant will accept whatever as payment, where it be wampum or gold coins L
I'll pretend it's a currency.
The one thing I like about bitcoin is that it is not native to any country. Not controlled by a central authority. That gives it some value.
I agree up to a point. It has a...
Not even close! You can't sell 1/2 your car. If they are accepting bitcoin as payment at the going exchange rate it is no different than accepting euros or Canadian dollars. They convert the currency to the one they are using.
Bitcoin is considered by the merchant as a foreign currency. You...
But measured in fiat dollars
If you owned 1 bitcoin the high to low of the crypto winters are getting much more severe.
From the 2014 high to the 2015 low you watched about 450 bucks disappear.
In 2017 bitcoin made another new high then lost 15500 before it made a new low in 2018.
Now since Nov...
You are starting to lose me. Favored class? Everyone uses currency. How about your bitcoin whales? Who is going to be filthy rich when bitcoin goes to the moon?
In order to transact with bitcoin you have to have a computer, smart phone or something similar. How much of the population does that...
You bet I am!! I'm HODLing my cash. I'll maybe buy bitcoin when it turns but right now my store of value is dollars.
Us chichens run quickly and still have the same liquid net worth we had in January.
So at the present time is bitcoin under or overvalued at 20K
I can see widely held and decreasing supply. (so in theory demand will determine the price, what will drive the demand?) Bitcoin will be rare but there is no reason another crypto won't come on the market that will erase that demand...
It's that kind of thinking that makes bitcoin a poor investment.
If ya don't hold it you're a sissy, etc,etc.
No one can come up with a good reason why it should increase in value. That's what I'm looking for, any reason besides it always goes up, it has to.
That's true of anything that is trading below where it was 2 months ago. The question you should answer is where is the bottom, and whether there is a good reason for it to recover enough to make it a worthwhile trade/investment.
Don't want to be too picky, but Nortel never traded at $890. I owned from when it was a stogy old telephone company at 11 bucks paying a decent dividend to when it became a high flyer at just over 100 bucks Canadian. $89 was probably the US high. They did a 1 for 10 reverse split at around a...
What I noticed was it also traded below a higher low.
2020 low was higher than the 2018 low
2021 low was higher than 2020 low
But the lows in 2022 is lower than 2021 low.
Never happened before.
Perhaps you can point out the section of the white paper that explains how to value bitcoin?
I understand how a digital currency is supposed to function, I have difficulty determining whether it is undervalued or overvalued at the present price.
Well whatever you call it, job, home based business or other souce of income, it sounds like it fits you perfectly.
I feel the same way about my speculation, although I have a longer time frames as I enjoy doing other things.
