let me know,if you find anybody with news via API. 1 month wasn't that bad. you can collect it by EOD once a day and store on your PC. to build your own DB. how far you need those news back? i have some scraps from yahoo,stored in txt files(talking about stocks)

dunno//i've been fly's fan for a very long time and it was always $25 a month or 240 for a year(if you subscribe directly from them) i'm talking about basic,with no extras. you probably subscribed to something else from fly,if it cost you 35

ask them directly via chat. fast,simple and accurate way to get the info. you need to have at least basic subscription,in order to get any news(free or premium)

you right about adding wash sale to basis,but i believe that it's already added and 'g' column indicate (as it says) adjustment to your PnL(with wash sale added to basis). i see no mess here. the other way to calculate your PnL and report it in one line, the way that it would fit into...

the only way i was able to get something close to the numbers that i have in my records(based on my own log and IB monthly statements) is to subtract basis from proceeds(got huge negative number) and then-add this number to those adjustments in column 'g' is this how it's suppose to be...

not sure about futures and stuff,but backetesting\simulation on stocks(specially on low time frames) can be useless,compared with real trading. bots do react on your order,when you are out there,while in sim you just playing with last price(which not necessarily will be your fill)

judging by this(and other trading related) forum's activity i can safely say that trading is dying. that in general. retail trading is dead already. i'm talking active day trading,not some buy and hold stuff. everything is possible and i know some people who still scalp,but it's ain't easy...
