Finally! Rithmic on the Web! Optimus Trader - Our Flagship Platform

This sounds weird, what does this mean? Anyone.

Can people jump ahead of your limit orders on NYSE b/c of the "parity rule?"

I don't know about what they must do, but below clearly suggests otherwise. "Parity requires that orders from floor brokers, the designated market maker, and the top of the electronic limit order book trade together. That is, floor trading interests can trade ahead of equally priced...

Can people jump ahead of your limit orders on NYSE b/c of the "parity rule?"

I don't know for sure, but why would Floor broker need to be submitting orders to be in the que? I think the idea is to have it both ways - if they want to submit(display) they can, but they don't have to. Isn't that the whole point of parity?

What are some (illegal) tricks that market makers use?

This is under 'Stocks' thread. No US Broker trades for their own account, so they do not front run your orders. Your order was in the order book at one of the lit exchanges and got traded through? Or was your order on some server at brokerage firm and by the time it got to the exchange, the...

What are some (illegal) tricks that market makers use?

I don't think there is anything illegal going on at brokerages ... they are under very strict compliance. It's quite simple imho - technology had evolved but unlike MMs/HFTs, brokers do not have skin in the game. There is absolutely no incentive, nor rules that I know of, which require a broker...

What dark pool routes does IB use?

Difference between exchange data feed vs. IB TWS data feed?

Anyone is using DAS trader? Do you also need to run it with TWS side by side?

Which Robinhood Options Should I use for this strategy?

I'm no options expert, but since you want to be as close to actual stock and will exit in a few minutes, I would do this with ITM weeklies. Here is how I would play it: 1. Send MOO (not sure RH allows it but IB does - Robert said not to do it, so strike one against you) 2. Send limit order to...

Not a bad way to swing with options

Because if you can't put any size on, what's the point!? As @TheBigShort said, when a rare opportunity is spotted, you need to be able to make it count. To do that, and keep the risk in check, requires liquidity. In one of the posts, @MarkBrown said something very insightful ... that he tries...

    Size is edge?

Agree with you on all points. Would like to point out that one doesn't need to push all the time, just need to wait for the right moments. Some examples of this is waiting for (and sometimes creating) a catalyst. Another is running up Futures prior to Equities open to generate a gap/momentum...

Not a bad way to swing with options

I'm actually surprised that you do. The 300% wins come at such low rates that you can't expect it to be meaningful. The fact that win rate is low prevents one to put on size(relatively speaking). Buying at .01 and selling at .03 doesn't count. I like what @TheBigShort is saying, but both his...

Not a bad way to swing with options

@TheBigShort, thank you for sharing. Does this quote suggest to be long gamma? P.S. Let's not get offensive towards other contributors ... So many people just leave the forum and we don't get to hear their opinions. We've got a good discussion going here.

Difference between exchange data feed vs. IB TWS data feed?

So if I write a stand alone app and send directed orders via API, IB charges an extra fee vs. sending directly from TWS. I assume that when your customers send such orders, they do not incur this extra fee because IB knows that the account is associated with some third party platform (like DAS...
  14. Q

Difference between exchange data feed vs. IB TWS data feed?

If you send orders to TWS via API. Other third party like MotiveWave use same API, but I assume that IB has an agreement with them and treat the orders as non-api. So if you write a program to send orders via API, you will be charged extra for direct routes.

Difference between exchange data feed vs. IB TWS data feed?

When did I say it's not important!? What I meant is - You can spend lot of money on good/better feed, but if your broker is slow it will be useless.

Sorry, meant to ask - can NOT be done consistently.
  20. Q

Difference between exchange data feed vs. IB TWS data feed?

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure such set up will be considered as regular manual set up.
