Initial 5min LTL break off daily chart major R level. Initial breaks usually fail, but a second test and a break with conviction could signal a deeper pullback. ADD: Deeper overnight LTL, range low and 5-min VWAP all sitting around 1729 now.

Thank you for posting. It's good for people to see that it's possible to trade profitably using price action and hard stops. It's not easy, but it's possible.

I use a 20-bar EMA for a quick visual of where we are right now and I have a look back time window of about 70 price bars to place that in context. So if I'm looking to day trade the ES I'll use a 5-min chart with a 6-hour view and a 20-bar EMA. At the hard right edge this morning 5 minutes...

Yes, ES is very "clean", while CL, though very "technical", seems to have a lot of programmed scalping going on, plus it's a much thinner instrument so unless a well-defined trend is in progress, levels can be swept in an instant and run right back again. I'll post the ES chart shortly before...

That chart is "just click buy" price action for me. I don't see the ES as "overbought" until price tests (or decisively fails to test) the upper channel line connecting the swing highs on the daily chart from May through Sept. The longer term LTL broke downside earlier this month, but in a...

What do you guys think of JCP after all?

Buying fundamentally sound and/or technically strong companies during market corrections can make a career. Attempting to pick bottom in fundamentally and technically troubled companies isn't worth the risk...

Frankly, if I was trying to catch runs or trends, I'd be spinning. I've been in "assume everything's a scalp unless there's a clear trend" mode for quite a while now. Austin really nailed the PA, just a lot of head fake range/chop, then boom, then right back again.

Honestly, at the time I place an order I quite often feel like the trade could never work, and I have to remind myself "they got your back". But I am totally confident that as long as I stick with my rules, I'll definitely make money :)

    CL Redux

I draw TL's on the hourly chart which automatically appear on my other charts. This keeps me from buying or selling right into one of these lines, because they tend to hold up well on the initial approach. Friday, it was over an hour from the open before I got a signal that wasn't invalidated...

Which brokers allow you to split up orders for the same instrument? I thought when you buy or sell and then add to the position you get an average price and if you take off part of the position, the net gain/loss is based on the average price of the position as it relates to the price at which...

    CL Redux

The 1-min chart only comes into play when there's a setup or signal on the 5-min chart.* The 5-min chart is my main chart. (In a strong trend or a strong trending move, the 1-min chart is what I use to scalp chunks of each push because I don't scale in or out. A scaling trend-follower would hold...
