Risking 10k to make 1.25 mil. Anybody trades like that?

Absolutely! Go for as big a home run as you can, so you are ensured no chance of getting stuck in a long and tedious trading career. If you don't love trading, why bother?

Yeah me, too. Excellent post, excellent thread! ET should have a special archive for threads like these.

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

+ $762 Day + $2576 Week + $4038 Month Cover target on HANS set @ 36.10 and I got 100 shares filled, so exited the remaining position @ 36.15 market because the L2 indicated a bounce. Gain of $332 was better than the $100 I was looking to scalp yesterday before close. Turns out I had more...

+ $762 Day + $2576 Week + $4038 Month Still holding unrealized loss on ORLY but not enough to take the green out of my week and better yet, the chart actually looks solid for retracement now! Also holding small HANS position overnight. 7rader, I'm wishing you the best!

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

I am for the most part day trading and I like the speed with which price falls during pullbacks. (As geez pointed out, that HANS move was priceless.) I also think in a bear market stocks trading at or near 52-week highs will retrace part or all of their gains once they reach an overbought...

    100K to 133.14159K in 361 Days

Although Boosh's charts are a visual delight, the above post, frankly, has exceeded the BQ (boring quotient) allowed on ET. Therefore, I will add a bit of additional color to the thread to avoid it being moved to the ET Forum where missing socks are located. And so I offer...

Why Can't we See what's really there in Real Time?

Flash, I've come to the conclusion it's like being a pilot. You got to cross-check everything, and get to where you do it naturally. But in trading you must learn to do it very quickly. I keep a 3-min and 30-day chart up at all times for any given stock and I always check the 6-month and...

Why can't I make money - when I know what do do?

I still do this. Write up a list of things to look for before entering a trade. After a while it will become second nature, but always good to have a list because our minds get lazy. I made my list yesterday and it was very helpful today! By the way, I now check SPY before EVERY trade!

+ $486 First of all, a big thanks to Redneck Trader for making me think right thoughts. I took all my signals today except the two I missed due to lunch and bathroom breaks! Had no IB access this morning to cover ORLY at a profit, and held onto my Etrade portion of the position, so am...

+ $486 Very satisfied to have taken most of my signals today (missed a couple due to lunch and bathroom; decided I need a vending machine next to me and a port-a-potty under me) :p If you look at a 3-min chart of HANS in the middle of the day, I was at the top and bottom of that BIG RED...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

geez, jn, and 7, thank you for your encouragement! Redneck, you asked, "have you ever Journaled the trades you didn't take through to their conclusion - just to see how they turn out" I've jotted trades on paper that I didn't take and entered a stop and looked later to see how they...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

Took Redneck Trader's advice: The way I trade I short stocks that reach an overbought condition. I’ve come to prefer shorting because we are in a bear market and I believe that most rallies are mainly short term traders and short coverers driving price up temporarily. I believe the big...

    MACD/Trendline Swing Trader

My day trading is affected by any move against me. I use tight stops or L2 action to get me out if The Market won't play nice. However, some of my trades have been put on as either day or swing and I'll add if they move against me (HANS, HOTT, ORLY are a few), so I look at the bigger picture...

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

+$346 Offered 36.70 HANS on open when the Ask was stuck @ .66, bid @ .54. Decided to enter at market for average price of 36.54 because I saw that the prez and the chmn of the co each sold off 150,000 shares, so I figured I should also sell some shares so I could be like them. It dropped like...

+ $346 I had an opening trade on HANS that was the ADD trader's dream. I had to keep blinking to believe what I was seeing. (Chart in my journal.) Yeah, this is still me all over!

    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

Guys, your recent posts got me thinking deeply (don't worry, that burning smell should clear soon) about averaging a position when fading vs. keeping a tight stop and looking for a better entry. This has nagged at me a lot. When I short a stock that's not at or near major resistance, I'm very...
