probably because the prop is not providing full pass thru of ECN fees and is skimming from the top. You can always go to the ECN to see what their fee schedule is and compare it to what your prop is passing thru to see if/how much you are cheated by your firm.

Start with kiwi_trader's multiple reviews of IB - every time some posts a negative review he has to counter with a positive and brings into question the accuracy of the positive reviews if they are only used to counter negative ones.

If there are any institutions using IB they are probably using their own front end via FIX and/or their prime services. And yes they have different CS/dedicated rep if they have problems.
