    "Please God, Kill this Politician!"

Those damn Republicans are at it again praying to their God (while waving their guns) to strike down politicians they don't agree with. http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/04/09/teachers.union.governor/index.html?hpt=T2 (CNN) -- A New Jersey teachers union is coming under fire after an internal...

Let's solve the tax problem without Volcker

If all these proposed programs are supposed to pay for themselves for the next 10 yrs and even run a profit, how is it that we will have nearly 1T$ deficits each yr for the next 10 yrs?? Volker is an example of the problematic federal government that we have in that we have all these people...

20-50mm size in FX with IB

You can get that limit changed if you contact their trading desk or your rep (if institutional account, and if you are not, you should be at those volume levels) and they can raise your trade limits. If you look at the depth, it should be no problem getting filled for 20MM with minimal slippage.

Is there any reason to join a prop firm if your capital is 500K?

With 500k, you can extend your buying power beyond Reg-T limits using Portfolio Margining, giving you an effective 6:1 buying power (depending on your portfolio balance) plus you get your SIPC protections that you can't get in ANY prop firm scenario, whether licensed or not. (some retail outfits...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

AFAIK, Obama and Co. have made no indication of doing anything on a multi-national level. The levy they want to enforce is to last for a 10 yr period with proceeds geared specifically for US repayment of TARP. Gordon wants US to jump on board the global levy bandwagon, which may prove difficult...

Government now has their hands in your FOREIGN bank accounts.

Just curious but did anyone actually read beyond the fear-inducing hysteria of the title of the article? Anyone actually read and understand the provision as laid out in the HIRE Act?

Will IB TWS run on the IPad?

The app that runs on the iPhone is not the TWS but a minimal, feature deprived app designed to allow you to enter trades if you need to, it is not designed to be an active trading platform. I think OP was looking for full TWS functionality due to the screen size of the iPad.
