    Troops returning

So, troops leave and market down triple digits. Maybe Iran next to prop up the market?

    CL Redux

When you enter (or try to enter) a position around news events like the Philly Fed (or NFP, FED meeting, etc) do you use limits, stop limits or market orders going in? Curious because I have been using bracketed stop limits above and below, and while sometimes I get burned, most of the time...

    Jinxu's Dow E-mini Journal 2010

Yes, they both move the same direction, but an 8 tick move in the YM does not equate to an 8 tick move in the NQ, even tho you get the same result in your account. Hey, it's just food for thought.

    Jinxu's Dow E-mini Journal 2010

Might I suggest switching to the NQ's? YM and ES jump around too much like a crack whore looking for their next fix to trade with such a small base. An 8 tick move on the NQ's are not the same as 8 ticks on YM. Pretty much works off the same signals as its bigger brethren.

    Upgrading Vista to Windows7

Vista to 7? Significant. Less resources. Better memory control. More built-in driver support. 64-bit better (new standard) than 32 bit version. But still best to roll it back to XP.

WikiLeaks Founder Describes Possibility of Casualties as Acceptable Risk

WikiLeaks Founder Describes Possibility of Casualties as Acceptable Risk Any U.S. and allied casualties that result from the publication of classified Afghan war documents would be an acceptable risk, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange suggested Monday, saying "such information is also likely...

    Transaction cost

Are you talking spot or futures? Futures: spreads always (99.9%) narrow, costs can be drawn down by seat membership Spot: no such thing as an exchange seat! Rebates usually get from bucket shops, except for Dukas (go to cashback forex to read about rebate brokers). With ECN brokers, they...

Japanese Prime Minister Kan: Will Watch Yen Rates Carefully

intervention is a nothing more than a paper tiger. The only way this would be successful is a coordinated effort, and I don't see US or EU jumping on this wagon to revalue the yen.

IB's Java TWS vs Standalone TWS

The stand alone version is java based too. But to answer the question, stand alone is better - no browser bs to contend with.

    Regulators: Ban Direct Access Trading

Where does it say "ban" direct access or are you just leaping to conclusions? Oversight does not equate to a ban. BTW, you forgot to add the pre-requisite 6 or 7 exclamation points in the thread title that usually accompanies similar chicken little claims.

    New to The Scene

Dude, you are responding to a 3 year old posting. Things have changed since the original posting. Why are you resurrecting this outdated* info? *outdated, as in this is 2010 not 2007, things have changed. The prop landscape has changed. Hell, we even have a new President!

    Concerns about Mirus

They just moved to new offices within the past month and there are, shall we say, gremlins that need to be worked out. I recently sent them an overnight (based on addy from their website) only to find out that they moved and it could not be delivered. They failed to update their website...

Obama makes clear support for ground zero mosque

If it means anything, this issue will probably be decided by the US Supreme Court if they elect to still want to build there.
