Good job shorts, since I was looking for a long at 86-87, I failed to take the short at 89; my bias caused me to pass up an otherwise pretty good signal, though at the time I was not sure it was even coming back to 87.. hindsight always 20/20 I suppose.

Yes but this only means heavy market selling. Not really indicative of the market's intention.

B, this 87.50 area looks like you; I am tempted but will see how it looks at 86.50 .. if I miss, I miss. Or if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But something tells me it will try to take out a few more longs if it's actually going to move up from here. Bid sitting here for quite some time at 86.50, but...

It's the moron impatient buyers... then again, if it does as you say, then they're geniuses and we're left out in the cold. And it's possible I'll be eating my words if I'm totally wrong and it wants to go south of 85.

damn it, can't we get a shakeout first? C'mon, let's see 87 again you wussy sellers. Big red candle.

Bidding 86.50, ready to pull if stars don't align; slight alteration of my earlier 87 premise, but similar nonetheless.

Yeah touching the apex of the triangle too... would expect sellers there.

If 87 holds I will have the confirmation I need for a long. If we begin to trade back below 87, I will wait some more. I would expect a long to produce equal range extension to the upside as the downside, thus a target of 94, and preferably 97.

No trades for me LL; I have had a couple of possible entries, but I am one of the uncertain market participants and thus have not traded today, though I am waiting and hopefully will be given an opportunity later. I am simply thinking out loud on the forum; I do that because it helps me talk it...

Exactly; this is why I am just waiting right now; clear interest as I said before at 85, and clear interest at 87/88. Interest as observed by volume.

    ES Journal - 2012

It is very interesting to watch the confusion of the market participants (of which we are part). Buyers clearly interested in 85. Sellers clearly interested in 87/88, looking for continuation down. Lack of conviction as to overall direction is evident. Volume heavy on both sides of the...

I'm still unsure. We went above the 87 which was important, yet immediately met with sellers. And the RTH VAL is 87.75; so we have not really accepted price back higher yet. My gut says long but I'm cautious because we are trading below the VA, and teetering on the IBL. Feels long but could...

Going to pull the bid and re-evaluate if/when it goes to 86, may get worse price, but not crazy about SPX
