Buying call options ahead of earnings has been profitable

This was a favorite of mine back in the late 90's to 2000 with all the tech stocks, DELL, CSCO, MSFT, etc.. I usually looked for something in the .15 to .50 cent range and normally had at least a double and quite a few times a lot more. I never went in with huge size, but it was enough to be...

    NFL Kicker conspiracy theory

Ocho, with the accuracy they have at that range, I think it is fair to use the term "gimme", if you want to go into verbal sparring over it have fun. Gee, I didn't realize the differences between kicking and free throws, thanks for informing me.

    NFL Kicker conspiracy theory

Or a fan, whining and looking for all the reasons why his team sucked this year. :) I would have sworn percentages had to be down this year. I can't remember seeing so many multiple miss games. Thanks

    NFL Kicker conspiracy theory

I said it was pretty much a gimme, similar to free throws in that respect, but I think stat wise the PAT is better than a free throw. Here's a link to some stats. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player-stat/field-goal-percentage-30-to-39 I agree kickers who are on outdoor stadium teams...

    NFL Kicker conspiracy theory

Robbie Gould not a spring chicken anymore, and I'm sure that is part of the reason the Bears let him walk 3 years ago, on top of probably a bigger payday. He's been the most accurate kicker in the league since, and I have a feeling he would have hit the FG and PAT in their game, as opposed to...

    NFL Kicker conspiracy theory

I haven't seen the stats for this year, so going on just what I have seen, but I have never seen a year with so many missed FGs and PATs. This includes multiple misses in games by kickers who have solid stats year after year. Personally I think they changes something with the ball. Possibly a...

    Creatine Loading

It took me a long while to figure that out. Not as short a time period, but from Thanksgiving last year to Turkey day this I dropped 30 lbs. 185 top 155, by changing my quantity intake and what I eat. About 5 years ago I quit drinking, more so because I needed to grow up and get a grip, but...

What % of your income/net worth goes into the trading account?

I didn't actually answer your question originally, so now I'd say my capital specifically for trading is under 5% of net worth. When I first started it was the internet bubble and I was easily using 100% of net worth. I was a bigger idiot than now, although maybe by not much.

What % of your income/net worth goes into the trading account?

My trading account has a minimum of $30,000 at any point and when if hits roughly$100,000 I roll off some cash to either put into longer term holdings or pay bills(college tuitions of late). If I have gotten in a equity position that I held for a swing trade it may run higher as I like to stay...

I am told this insanely march in Stockholm is soccer-related

Hmm, I seem to remember riots after almost every championship win by whoever in whatever sport in the U.S. these days. Cars tipped and set on fire, buildings vandalized, and fights before during and after games. A buddy who drove to an Eagles vs. Packers game in Philly had his back window...

Maybe I could organize my books a bit better

Looking for a book today and realize some organization might help. Winnie The Pooh, Children's Guide to the Bible, a book on the horrors of communism, one about my Dad's infantry division, a Super Bowl program and Sports Illustrated from the Packers Super Bowls.

equipment for taking a picture of an entire train

Yeah, I'm guessing a bit smaller these days. Considering we were taking pictures from 70,000- 80,000 ft at a speed of about Mach 3 and could read the number on the back of prisoners in camps back in the '60s, I think they have something smaller available by now. Possibly even a camera you could...

New Way to Calculate Your Body Fat is Easier and More Accurate

BMI is really a sad measurement. My youngest was in for his pre season physical when he was 16, and the doctor says he needs to work on his weight as his BMI was 28. I said maybe we are looking at 2 different people. You see his abs are cut and most likely his weight is muscle mass. He has...
