What you say is so true about all the software for trading. You can't find out much without using it/paying for something, same for data feeds. You need to examine data in detail before you get the picture on how bad some of it really is. I did that with Excel and a little VBA programming...

Technically speaking it was giving off buy signals on Wed. I would have bought at EOD Wed or on the gap up on Thu. I've never questioned adequately whether tech analysis leading up to a news event has the same meaning as in a news vacuum. Hope it works out well for you.

Scanning with stockcharts.com will do what you want. I'm not sure of the quality of their data however, after getting results from them you could use your esignal data to verify.
