ETF will take positions opposite of Jim Cramer's recommendations

I hear he makes bank better than "clown wages"... more like $5MM/year. Good work if you can find it. :)

ETF will take positions opposite of Jim Cramer's recommendations

The notion of "fade Cramer*" and "fade Cathy" as an investment theme is hilarious. I hope it plays that way for a while just for the hoot! :) * I once questioned him on some call... he suggested that I "take a pill". :)

    Why 'Fade Every Rally' works...

The problem with betting on "reversion to the mean" is that you never know when it's going to start, so hard to strategize while controlling risk. That, and the market can remain "extended without reversion" longer than investors can remain solvent. I would never bet/play that an issue "will...

    Why 'Fade Every Rally' works...

You are trading "with the market's bias"... as you should. Last year the market's bias was to the upside.. and BTFD was the correct strategy. Not now.

Doesn't 30% down feel about right for where this bear market should land?

Some have warned, "worst bear market ever... rival or even exceeding the Great Depression". Hard to fathom that, but considering how bloated all the bubbles, who knows? To me, the market is acting like it's still in the "denial" stage. If that's correct, long way to go before bottom.

Doesn't 30% down feel about right for where this bear market should land?

I've read, "Average bear market has been -37% and lasting 277 days". If that's the case, this bear would bottom out late in October at ~ 3000. So... is this an average bear or will it be bigger??

How do I Choose before Dell Ships Workstation

The Dell version of Windows is somewhat proprietary as well as the drivers they install. When I tried to update the video card driver from Nvidia's website, I got a message about it being "not compatible with the OS". Then I installed Nvidia's GeForce driver thingy which then allowed the...

How do I Choose before Dell Ships Workstation

I'm sorry, I still don't know. Perhaps the Dell guy can explain the difference between Plain Vanilla, WIM, Ghost, ISO, Image Assist and how each would work for you. I think those are ways you can restore your system to function should it be corrupted. Dell is going to put a "restore...

Doesn't 30% down feel about right for where this bear market should land?

We haven't seen the "earnings recession" part yet. Someone said current P/E is something like 17x. Bear markets typically(?) get P/E down to 8-12x. And so far earnings estimates have come down only slightly. Also... Seems to me this bear market has quite a lot further to fall. (I...

How do I Choose before Dell Ships Workstation

I don't know which would be better. Perhaps have Dell explain before choosing?? Just off the top of my head I think I'd choose the generic/ready image... but then you might not be using Dell Update function for updates and would have to rely upon Windows Update. I understand that you're not...

Before I Worry About SnP Being Overpriced

I get that... but I was trying to emphasize... "EVERYTHING A TRADER WANTS/NEEDS TO KNOW IS IN THE CHART"... nothing else matters. Whatever players want, fear, hope, expect, anticipate, etc... is reflected in their motivation to buy or sell. The chart reveals all.... whatever they buy/sell do...

Before I Worry About SnP Being Overpriced

For your own benefit, you need to know "Price TA". Is the public buying your conclusion? Does the chart show it? If not, maybe you're "just early", or maybe you were fooled into buying it. (Of course buying may not "show up on the first day", but you should be checking on the issue...

Before I Worry About SnP Being Overpriced

That notion has some meat on it. It's true that "at the turn", buyers on the upside are wrong, and sellers on the downside are wrong"... but that's only part of the story/argument... there are always times leading up to the turns that the chasers are correct.. for the moment. If you're...

Before I Worry About SnP Being Overpriced

Price TA is only partly (very small part) about "trying to time/catch the turn tic". It's more about recognizing what "has already happened, what it means, and what you should do about it." The biggest knock on TA runs along the line, "you can't time all the turns perfectly,so TA is invalid"...

Before I Worry About SnP Being Overpriced

If you plan to "B&H", overpriced valuation might mean something. If you're a trader (and after all, this is a trading website), it doesn't matter one hoot. You should be buying when the market is buying and selling when the market is selling... valuations (and everything else) be DAMNED...

Where would you invest $1mm today? (pick 2)

If you said "XLK outperformed QQQ since Covid low", I'd agree. Still, QQQ isn't a bad proxy for tech... especially if trading in size.
