Dell guys are great guys, but IT'S NOT working

Dell used to have a "21 day free return, no questions asked" policy. Are you within the 21 days? I could direct you to a really great computer for $1100... or one almost as good for $300-$400 if you were interested. :)

Dell guys are great guys, but IT'S NOT working

Sorry, man. You're probably astonished I paid $72 for mine.

Dell guys are great guys, but IT'S NOT working

Is there a tag somewhere on it? There certainly should be a Service Tag (as do all Dells) and you can look up the specs... this aside, I looked up the specs for XPS 8920 desktop. Unfortunately it's a "low-end consumer computer". I has "onboard video" which in my mind has always been a no-no...

Is that a model 8920 or other?

Any modern computer with at least 2x, PCIE x16 slots will work for you. To run multi-monitor, you need a proper video card. Lots of 2-port and several 4-port cards available. Personally I like Nvidia Quadro Line, but AMD has some which are OK too. (The computer you have now may be perfectly...

Technical analysis and different future contracts

Trade only the most active contract... the front month. When time expires, trade the next contract. Nearly all of the liquidity is in the front month.

    Understanding Candlestick Charts

    1. Shorter time frames are less reliable. Suggest watching daily charts. 2. The most valuable/indicative patterns are the reversal ones... morning star, evening star, engulfing, hammer, hanging man, etc. Candle patterns are not especially definitive. Whatever you see in candle charts, you...

Finally, an economic predictor we can believe in

They give us a "new" definitions of recession, bull/bear market, etc. It's all just media rhetoric. Bottom Line... prices are in an uptrend or downtrend... or maybe "sideways, indecision", waiting to break out on the upside or down when the market psycho changes. As an investor/trader you...

Finally, an economic predictor we can believe in

You don't need no "economic predictors"... what traders DO need is the charts. EVERYTHING traders know, hope, fear, feel, anticipate, etc is reflecting in their decisions to "buy or sell". Traders need to get a handle on that. All other considerations are just schmeckis.

How to Cash In on After-Hours and Premarket Trading

Make AH trading life simple (well, as simple as it's going to get).... trade the ES/MES.... buy support, sell resistance, chase breakouts... KISS baby, same as always. The overnight action is slower, but there's plenty of liquidity.

How can you tell when the trend is over?

Neither does anybody else. They both start out looking the same.

    Dr. Copper misbehaving again

You know how that works out... kick the can down the road to be somebody else's problem later. :(

    Dr. Copper misbehaving again

Powell is being a big PUSSY... trying to "ease us" into a decline that is minimally destructive for the economy at the expense of ever higher and continuing inflation. That's apparently his play for now... we'll see how well that works and what follows.

Question about static electricity... any experts on ET?

When I was a kid, my shit/mean cousin (he was 12, I was 10) dared me to pee on an electrical fence which held the cows in a limited pasture. You can imagine how THAT turned out! :) (I can hardly understand why he was so mean... nor can I understand how I was so stupid... we used to wake up in...

Question about static electricity... any experts on ET?

Maybe I'm answering on the wrong track... but not talking about my getting shocked, but rather damage to computer from static discharge. Apparently static discharge can be in the "thousands of volts" (?)... low amps, of course.

Question about static electricity... any experts on ET?

Not sure everybody knows this, so I mention... (1) I've been in almost all parts of the US, and nowhere is humidity as low as the desert southwest. (2) It's typical for us in Colorado to have relative humidity 20-25%, and sometimes <10%... so static electricity is potentially greater here than...

Question about static electricity... any experts on ET?

50% humidity... nice idea, but I live in Colorado. Would like solution other than "add humidifier to house". :) I've never had a big static problem until just recently. Apparently static can get into the computer through USB. I've had one computer (apparently) knocked out and 4, USB drives...

Question about static electricity... any experts on ET?

My thinking... when I replace a CPU, I use a wrist strap clipped to the case... which through the power cord is connected to a power strip which is switched off. Hopefully any static charge dissipates through that path. I'm considering creating something similar with more "range" around my...

Question about static electricity... any experts on ET?

There are "static grounding plugs" available that connect to the ground prong of 3-prong socket. They all (most?) have "built-in resistance for safety". Can anyone explain the resistance/safety aspect? Thanks.
