Small Percentage Gains from Large Account Strategies?

You can always write covered calls... that will be fine so long as the underlying holds up.

Small Percentage Gains from Large Account Strategies?

Traders like to hope they might find the "Holy Grail"... the money machine... where they can turn on the computer in the morning, go play golf, and come home in the afternoon to pick up the money and take it to the bank.:D

Small Percentage Gains from Large Account Strategies?

    1. You always need to make good r/r plays.... no need to have all of your money committed to a position. 2. "Cash secured puts" are NOT like "picking up pennies in front of a steam roller"... you've confused that with "writing naked puts*". Bottom Line... learn Price TA and always trade with...

    Simple Video Card Recommendation

The NVS 510 is still good for you in all but a high-performance/gaming application and The 510 will run 4x, UHD monitors. Closest upgrades to the 510 are Quadro P620 and Quadro T600. All current lines of Nvidia workstation class cards have a cooling fan.

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

It was mentioned all over Twitter. TSLA is about as high a profile as Aapl... LOTS of eyes on it.

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

Yes... and our dealing with them is almost always "50-50"... which makes it difficult to make a really big score.

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

Mostly correct about index futures at this time. However TSLA ran from ~$100 to ~$200 in 6 weeks. That was a "playable swing"... other issues did similar.

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

A little background about swing plays... When I ran my mutual fund trading service, I was always looking for the issue that was at/near support on the daily chart (MF trades are filled only at end-of-day, so there is usually significant slippage in both buying and selling). My plan was to try...

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

You make me laugh. :D You often show interest in Price TA, but apparently you don't think of applying that to swings or trades generated from the daily chart. Price TA works in all time frames and in all markets. Swing trades are NOT more dangerous when you... Buy Support Sell Resistance...

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

That's the problem with swing and longer term plays. You have to ignore/tolerate counters against your position up to a point... and you never know that you did well on that until after the fact.

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

You didn't say whether it was a long or short... nor your entry price. Offhand it's likely you violated "Price TA" entry and/or stop principles. If you provide info on the trade, I'll give you my view along with a chart. A good "swing" play is one that gets off to a good start (crucial) and...

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

Trading is a bit like counting cards in black jack. If you're a card counter, you KNOW when the deck favors a bet. THAT'S when you make your play. Well, trading is like that. With Price TA, you KNOW what players are doing with their money at certain important price points. That's when YOU...

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

TA skeptics don't believe/understand... Price TA works the same on all issues and in all time frames. You can trade intraday off the 5-minute chart or swing trade off of daily charts. It's all the same. The charts show "what players are actually doing with their money... buying/selling...

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

Pardon for referencing my own post... But this is FUNDAMENTAL to trading. If one can't get his mind around this concept, likely he will not succeed. PERIOD!

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

Traders would like to know everything and "be sure the trade will work out". Well, you can't get that. What you can know is (a) where buying has changed to selling and vice versa, (b) where support and resistance are.... when you can expect the market to reverse* with significant probability...

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

Actually you do know... for sure... when the market has changed from buying to selling and vice versa in the short term.... which is proper for trading. What you don't know is how far will it go and how long will it last. You have to play that by ear.

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

I don't have intraday data... while it's generally a bad idea to "buy stocks in a strong down trend".... one might make a "punt" on NG with a stop below recent lows. We're coming out of the seasonally strong period for NG (prices front-run temperatures and expected gas demand)... but it might...

Price Action Trading or Fundamental Analysis? Which is easier

Almost impossible to trade with FA... unless you're giving the benefit-of-the-doubt to some "story"... and you are correct. With "Price TA", you KNOW when the market has changed from buying to selling and vice-versa. Nothing else is matters. :)
