I found Wikipedia to be the most current with rates. Suggest one do a search of "highest savings rates". There are 3 or 4 sites with current rates. Bankrate is one of those.

CDs will likely have early termination penalties. If you don't want to hold for the entire term, perhaps better to consider money market type instruments. Some of the banks have accounts with MM interest rates of 4.5-5% and no penalties for withdrawal. Some banks have/had(?) "no penalty...

It's a matter of semantics. In the middle of a trading range, what follows next is most likely to be random... I call that noise, meaning "not tradable in a meaningful way". That's opposed to buying support and selling resistance... odds of what follows is more predictable and not just...

You are wrong about this. Whatever is shown in a longer term chart is also shown in a shorter term chart. ZERO EXCEPTIONS!! (Longer term charts mask some/much of important price action.)

Yeah, take a flier if you care to. Sometimes they work out. I recall MiniScribe (local hard drive maker spin-off of IBM) years ago trading at 5/16, and 2 years later trading at $80. If one had the foresight to buy $1,000 worth of MiniScribe at the low, it would have turned into >$300,000...

That's a 5-minute chart... but the time frame doesn't matter.

If investors could see/imagine a huge upside potential for those stocks, it would already be reflected in their price chart. That not being the case (at least not right now), any play and hope for them to be the "next 100 bagger" would be mere speculation and hope.

The market right now is in the middle of a "rising channel", which is bullish for swing plays. There is support at 3966 and at the lower blue line. Resistance at the top blue line. All else is noise. Trade accordingly.

That's OK. The TR is one set of circumstances, the breakout is another. It's not one trade but rather two... IOW, trade the TR correctly, then shift mindset when price breaks out.

Speaking of that... do you recognize that the "upswing" in a TR acts like a mini-bull, and the "downswing" in the TR acts like a mini-bear... regardless of whether the market trend is bullish or bearish? (This is "Gold Star" guidance... just in case you were thinking of dismissing it as "nuthin".)

Multiple time frames are good... then you recognize that everything you see in a longer term is also revealed in a shorter term chart and in greater detail. The longer term chart shows "where", the shorter term shows "what".

The only thing that matters is "the last significant thing the market does" and your reaction to it. All the rest is irrelevant. The things you mentioned are all irrelevant. (I didn't mean to be mean-spirited and critical... just thought I might direct you to "better think" for trading.)

Feeling generous, I'll give it to him for free... TLT is in a trading range. Bottom of range is 100-ish. Top of range is 110-ish. The technically correct strategy is to "buy the bottom of the range support and sell/short the top of the range resistance". All else is noise. If I've saved...

No worries. Human nature in general will never change. When you "get it right" it's for a reason. When you "get it wrong" it's because you don't understand the right reason... or you simply screwed up. :)
