One of the rules might be "buy the options going out 3-4 weeks". I tend to be early by a few days, maybe a week, but rarely more than that (unless I'm wrong). The subsequent move should last 1-2 weeks. So 3-4 weeks will even give me a big of extra margin to capture the move I want. As for...

I should have made a killing on CGC, TLRY, NBEV put options. I had seen this game in the past, sell the pot news catalyst and bank it big on the short trade. I use to play these back on OTC in previous cycles, this boom happened in the listed markets for the first time. I'm very comfortable...

TLRY $100 Put Option that expires on Nov 2 2018 is up 500% recently. Nice return high? Except its down massively over the previous weeks In bearish stock bets, timing is already crucial, in high momentum stocks with a high borrow rate, its pretty much the only thing that matters.

Which indicators measure how parabolic something is pretty well?

I'm using several parabolic indicators, percentage (or price multiple rather, parabolic price/previous price) is one of them. Angle is another. I'm also building some other indicators as well. I like the idea of angles because as a daytrader (and the daytraders that I know) what we intuively use...

Is there a website that shows the outstanding shares of a company over the last few years?

I found this at the marketwatch financials section. They dont have a chart but they have the annual or quarter figures overtime. This is extremely useful in spoting small cap dillution frauds https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/aapl/financials/income/quarter

Which indicators measure how parabolic something is pretty well?

I'm actually trying to use it to time certain small cap shorts, to use it as a heads up indicator

Which website allows you to download historical stock data, other than Yahoo Finance?

I downloaded it off Tiingo and the data has the same exact flaw, looks like their business model was to download everything Yahoo has and charge for it

Which website allows you to download historical stock data, other than Yahoo Finance?

YF doesnt have some data in a stock I follow (there are a bunch of 'null' rows for some reason). The data exists but I dont know of a site that will let you download it so easily. Is there one?

Is there a website that shows the outstanding shares of a company over the last few years?

I know I can track this by checking all the 10-Qs but I'm looking for a quick chart or table I can glance and see those figures immediatly, without having to dig for it. IIRC bloomberg terminals do that but I'm not ready to pay $2,000 for them yet

What are some rules of thumb used by good options trading practioneers?

In most fields good practioneers will use rules of thumb to simplify things and improve performance (ie Buffett's "be greedy when others are fearful"). In daytrading I noticed that most good daytraders avoid "chasing" a stock whether up or down. What about in options trading? What are some rules...

So what we have here is this, the main causes of a bear market tends to be: -Recession -Overbought markets -Something else The first two seem to be able to be disregarded, recession doesnt seem to be on the horizon and the market is not overbought as measured by my capital growth indicator (or...

I added a few more samples to the indicator. The idea is to basically capture very overbought markets where a lot of people have big gains, which they then pile in the sell side to take profits all at once. It seems notable that the only instance where there was a big drop WITHOUT a recession...

I realized that making that ratio makes no sense. Any at typical year stocks earn about 9% in 1 year. Which would lead to a ratio higher than 1929. Since capital growth is a convex function, it would tend to lead to ratio to go down the better it is doing. The indicator should be the capital...
