GOLD!!! UP or Down?? The top of gold mania??

Depends on what's driving equity prices ... inflationary monetary poilcy, or real earnings growth. If it's real earnings growth, it's driven by a consumer sector fueled not by consumer debt, but by consumer income -- a sign that our problems are behind us, and green pastures lie ahead...

GOLD!!! UP or Down?? The top of gold mania??

Very likely we'll see 700 real once a credible U.S. deficit reduction scheme is in place -- a stringent austerity plan that does not hamper the economy, send unemployment rocketing, provoke general social unrest -- as well as eurozone harmony, consensus on sovereign debt rescue, etc. Until...

    Can't eat gold

I'm reasonably certain that the assertion is false, based on a price appreciation of specific, known properties in other high-appreciation areas over the past 50 years (e.g., Los Angeles, metropolitan Boston). But I don't have readily available analogous pricing data for NYC. Does anyone know...

    Can't eat gold

I'd love to see some data on that. NYTimes says current average residential real estate assessment in Manhattan is $1.3 million, or roughly 720 ounces of gold. Anybody know what the average price was in 1961?

    Can't eat gold

50 years ago, my parents bought their house in a very well-known and decidedly upscale Boston suburb for $26,000. Today, the house would bring about $1 million. 50 years ago, that $26,000 worked out to about 743 ounces of gold. Today's $1,000,000 works out to about 550 ounces of gold...

    Marriage, just don't

Actually, it's men who have a "thing between their legs." So, to clarify, if you have that "thing" between your legs, you're a man. If not, you're a woman. Go check right now and let us know what you find.
