interesting to see nq holding things up...at the moment. should not breach 1407 if we're to have a real drop

fair enough... in favor of reversal here(ish), however -- u/dvol (not horribly bearish) -- treasury action (risk on-ish) -- 50% extension of last week's range right about here

the incredible lameness of insider trading

Why did Bill Clinton have an intern blow him in the oval office? Arrogance breeds the belief in indestructibility. In Clinton's case, the belief appears to have been justified. In this case, no.

Sand Hill Capital International - has anyone heard of them?

SOCKET-PUPPET THREAD EVALUATION Score: 6 (out of possible 10) As far as sock-puppet threads go, this one is more sophisticated than most. Note that most of the posts here bash the Sand Hill whatever-it's-called. That's certainly credibility-enhancing, and a clever way to draw attention...

Maybe that Treasury action wasn't so weird after all. Check out this weekend's planned activity at the IMF's Tokyo jamboree... http://www.imf.org/external/meetings/schedule.aspx?meetingid=1 My guess is that we've see the pre-opex low.

Treasury action this afternoon was downright weird--telegraphing an equity reversal from about 2:00p (EDT) on. A flush to 1400 on Monday would be elegant, and set up one doozy of a reversal into opex. But, somehow, I don't think we're gonna get it. No flush, no doozy. Just mush.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

First, a true story. Then, a question. Ok, here's the true story. And I swear to God this is as close to a verbatim recall as I can convey, a mere 90 minutes after it happened. Ready? Ok... My 12 year-old nephew--bright kid, but no Little Man Tate--was talking to me about politics. Then I...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I wish they'd also cite other arguments against FTT. eg: It won't suppress volatility; it will seriously erode pension and retirement account returns; etc. But I'll take what I can get

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

In an FTT world, banks and other insiders would own it all. Ma and Pa trader/investor would be history. Quite the irony.
