    New HP Laptop

Hi, Guys Going to be buying a new laptop and after a lot of research and hands on sampling I decided to buy a 17" HP 9700 series. I'm trying to decide between two different models. One is the new dv9700t with the specs shown below. And actually they had a $400 off coupon a couple of weeks ago...

    my boss blew up

I didn't say there's no difference in trading different products. I am saying that trading index futures like the S&P is pretty basic stuff. A lot more basic than the eurodollars spreads you're talking about. She ignored very basic trading rules in trading something that is pretty straight ahead...

    my boss blew up

Sorry, but this doesn't have to do with what product she was trading. This has to do with gambling and not using money management and it has to do with averaging down and not using any type of stop loss. "Awesome" traders just don't make this type of mistake. The problem with averaging down is...

Dell Notebook - Inspiron 1720 vs Inspiron 1520?

Here's a really good review of the Inspiron 1525 which just came out and replaces the 1520. It has lots of nice features and I almost bought one but unlike the 1520 it doesn't offer a dedicated video card option but only the integrated one...

IB margin policy is too conservative, agree?

I don't like IB's new margin requirements on futures at all. Which other futures brokers do you like? Anyone?

IB's 4% Intraday Initial Margin Req. for Index Futures

Why 4%? Why not 2% or 3%? I was just in the process of refunding my account today due to medical problems I've had that kept me from trading this last year and was startled when I looked up the intraday initial and maintenance margin on YM, ES, and QM, especially. These all seem to have doubled...

Pentagon ‘three-day blitz’ plan for Iran

The problem is, that seems to be what we're doing. Diplomacy seems to be on leave under this administration. Their motto seems to be "Carry a big stick and use it." And the other problem is realistically what would "winning" in Iraq look like? This is a civil war and how do we win a civil war...

It's people with thoughts and attitudes like yours that create the conflict in the first place.

Pentagon ‘three-day blitz’ plan for Iran

Just justify any action by saying this. Torture, government surveillance of it's own citizens. Any action is justified as long as we say it's because "we're at war." Is that correct? Sounds like Rumsfeld's coming out of retirement.
